The preview of Derthona Timorasso from the Colli Tortonesi
Derthona Due.Zero is the event that transforms Tortona, in the Province of Alessandria, into the capital of Derthona Timorasso DOC Colli Tortonesi every spring. Organized by the Colli Tortonesi Wine Consortium, the event is the official preview of this great Piedmontese white wine, an occasion where producers, industry professionals, the press, and enthusiasts gather to discover the new vintages directly from the winemakers.
Timorasso is an indigenous grape variety of the Colli Tortonesi that risked disappearing after the Second World War and, starting from the late eighties, was brought back to life thanks to the tenacity of local winegrowers. From just a few dozen hectares, it has grown in a few years to a vineyard area of over 500 hectares: a rebirth that has made Derthona one of the most appreciated Italian white wines, capable of defying time and evolving beautifully with aging. Derthona Due.Zero was created precisely to celebrate this history and to capture, edition after edition, the state of health of the denomination.
The heart of the event is the large tasting table set up in the spaces of the Museo Orsi, where over fifty wineries pour the latest vintages of Derthona in preview, along with a selection of Reserves that highlight the wine's extraordinary evolutionary potential. The public can thus compare different styles, terroirs, and interpretations of the same grape variety.
The format includes opening to the public and professionals for the first two days, while the final day is reserved exclusively for industry professionals and the press, in a more intimate and professional setting. The masterclasses, by reservation, guide participants on a journey to discover the nuances of Derthona.
Set in the Museo Orsi, along the Via Emilia, the event is also an invitation to discover Tortona and the surrounding hills, a corner of south-eastern Piedmont where quality viticulture intertwines with a gastronomy rich in typical products. For wine lovers, Derthona Due.Zero is the ideal starting point for a weekend among wineries, hilly landscapes, and local culture.
The sixth edition of Derthona Due.Zero was held from Saturday, March 28 to Monday, March 30, 2026, in the spaces of the Museo Orsi in Tortona. On Saturday and Sunday, the event was open to the public and professionals, while Monday was reserved exclusively for professionals and the press.
Over 50 producers from the Colli Tortonesi Wine Consortium poured the new 2024 vintage of Derthona in preview, along with a selection of 2023 Reserves, demonstrating the evolutionary potential of Timorasso. Two masterclasses, scheduled for Saturday and Sunday at 4:00 PM, guided participants in discovering the characteristics of the grape variety.
Over 50 producers present with the 2024 vintage and 2023 Reserves of Derthona Timorasso.
The event is held at the Museo Orsi, at Via Emilia 446 in Tortona (AL). By car, Tortona is easily accessible from the A21 motorway (Turin-Piacenza) and the A7 (Milan-Genoa), taking the Tortona exit. By train, the Tortona station is served by regional connections and some long-distance trains on the Milan-Genoa line.
Entry to the tasting table: 20 euros for the public, 15 euros for industry professionals and sommeliers. Masterclasses take place on Saturday and Sunday afternoons and require online booking. The final day is reserved for professionals and the press.
We recommend booking masterclasses in advance, as they have limited seating, and combining your visit with a tour of the Colli Tortonesi wineries.
