About Autunniamo

Autunniamo is the grand autumn festival of Pontecurone, in the province of Alessandria. Every year, on the first Sunday of October, the town's historic center is transformed according to a unique theme, featuring themed sets, performances, markets, and food stalls showcasing seasonal flavors. Established in 2008 by the Autunniamo Committee, the event has become a hallmark of identity for the local community and the wider eastern Piedmont region, attracting thousands of visitors of all ages.

Autunniamo, the festival that reinvents Pontecurone

Autunniamo is the premier autumn event in Pontecurone, a small town in the province of Alessandria, located in the heart of eastern Piedmont, just a few kilometers from Tortona. Every year at the beginning of October, the village opens its streets and squares to a grand popular festival celebrating "autumn scents, flavors, and emotions," turning the entire historic center into an open-air stage.

A themed festival, always different

What makes Autunniamo unique is its annual theme: for each edition, the Committee chooses a common thread that inspires decorations, set designs, costumes, and performances. Over the years, themes have included "The Fairy Court," "All the Moons," "La belle ร‰poque," "Ponte Comics," and for 2025, "Lights, Camera, Action!" dedicated to the world of cinema. This ability to reinvent itself makes every event a surprise, staying true to the spirit established in 2008.

What to expect

  • Food stalls featuring seasonal flavors and typical products from the Tortona area
  • Markets with handicrafts, hobbyists, and local producers along the town streets
  • Performances and entertainment spread throughout the town, designed to engage both adults and children
  • Themed set designs decorating courtyards, corners, and squares of the historic center
  • In some editions, the extraordinary opening of the town's churches in collaboration with the "Cittร  e Cattedrali" circuit

A community identity event

Organized by the Autunniamo Committee, the festival is the result of the voluntary work of many local residents and represents a moment of strong cohesion for the community of Pontecurone, the birthplace of Saint Luigi Orione. The event traditionally takes place on the first Sunday of October and is one of the most beloved autumn gatherings in eastern Piedmont, blending tradition, creativity, and hospitality.
