The monthly reuse and vintage market in the heart of Borgo a Buggiano
Curiosando e Riciclando is the traditional reuse market that, one Sunday a month, brings the historic center of Borgo a Buggiano to lifeโthe most vibrant village in the municipality of Buggiano, located in the province of Pistoia in the heart of the Tuscan Valdinievole. Along Corso Indipendenza and the streets of the old town, a stroll unfolds filled with stalls, curiosities, and small treasures, guided by a simple and timely idea: giving objects a new life instead of throwing them away.
The market brings together antiques, crafts, collectibles, and vintage items, with exhibitors arriving from all over Tuscany. While wandering among the stalls, you can stumble upon all kinds of items:
It is a haven for collectors, enthusiasts, and casual browsers hunting for a bargain or a hard-to-find piece, all set in a relaxed and friendly atmosphere.
Behind the cheerfulness of the market lies a clear message: spreading the culture of reuse, energy saving, and environmental respect. Every object that changes hands is a small gesture against waste, and over the years, the initiative has become a benchmark for those who love quality second-hand goods and concrete sustainability.
Visiting the market is also the perfect opportunity to discover Borgo a Buggiano: during the event, local shops remain open, often with special offers, while bars, pastry shops, ice cream parlors, and pizzerias welcome visitors with outdoor seating along the promenade. It is well worth stopping at the village's two churches, the Church of Santa Marta, next to the town hall, and the Church of San Pietro Apostolo, both of which house valuable works of art. In the most extensive editions, there is also a corner dedicated to children, with games and pony rides.
The initiative is produced by the Associazione culturale Pinocchio 3000, which manages the event on behalf of the Vivi il Borgo Committee, with the patronage of the Municipal Administration of Buggiano. Established in November 2022, the market has quickly established itself as one of the most beloved events on the Valdinievole calendar, drawing visitors from all over Tuscany, one Sunday at a time.
The 2026 edition of Curiosando e Riciclando confirms the proven formula: one Sunday a month, plus special dates, the historic center of Borgo a Buggiano fills with stalls dedicated to reuse, antiques, crafts, and vintage.
Furniture and home decor, clothing and accessories, vinyl records, CDs and cassette tapes, paintings, prints, books, and magazines, as well as many curious objects. Along the promenade, shops remained open, along with bars, pastry shops, ice cream parlors, and pizzerias with outdoor seating.
