A weekend dedicated to health, nature, and personal growth in Cumiana
The Cumiana Wellness Festival is an event that brings the town center of Cumiana to life for an entire weekend. Located in the Province of Turin, in the heart of the Piedmontese Pinerolo area, the festival was created to raise community awareness about the value of physical, mental, and spiritual well-being. It offers a rich and varied program that weaves together health, mindful eating, nature, and personal growth, while showcasing the local area and its associations.
The festival brings together doctors, nutritionists, psychologists, and wellness practitioners for a packed calendar of conferences and meetings. Topics include mindful eating, ultra-processed foods, relationship psychology, and personal growth, all presented in accessible language. There is also plenty of room for mind-body practices: yoga sessions, meditation, mindfulness, music therapy, breathing exercises, and conscious movement, often free and available by reservation.
At the heart of the festival is a deep connection with nature and the region's excellent cuisine. The event hosts stalls featuring natural, organic, and zero-kilometer products, as well as thematic exhibitions, installations, and creative spaces. Gastronomic moments curated by local chefs and the Cuochi della Mole collective are a highlight, alongside outdoor initiatives like the Pedaliamo per Cumiana cycle tour. The event's mascot is Hygge, a turtle inspired by the freshwater turtles that inhabit local gardens: a nod to the Nordic concept of hospitality, intimacy, and well-being.
The Wellness Festival is designed for audiences of all ages: alongside sessions for adults, there are numerous activities dedicated to children and families, including workshops, games, and educational offerings. Admission to the event is free, while some sessions and experiences require booking. Organized by the Municipality of Cumiana in collaboration with the Pro Loco and local associations, the festival has quickly become a highly anticipated date in the spring calendar of the Piedmont Region.
The second edition of the Cumiana Wellness Festival was held on Saturday, May 23, and Sunday, May 24, 2026, developing the theme of Awakening and Rebirth: an invitation to overcome situations of physical, mental, and spiritual malaise. The program brought together stalls featuring wellness, nature, and sustainability products, meditation and conscious movement practices, conferences, treatments, and individual consultations, as well as installations and creative spaces.
Highlights included the theatrical monologue Ai fiori non serve il pettine by Barbara Altissimo and, on Sunday the 24th, a conference on ultra-processed foods with nutritionist De Vecchi from the University of Gastronomic Sciences, supported by Slow Food Pinerolese. Other events included the Pedaliamo per Cumiana cycle tour (15 km route), the exhibition L'appetito vien guardando at the Town Hall, and free sessions of yoga, music therapy, and mindfulness by reservation.
Cumiana is located in the Pinerolo area, about 30 km southwest of Turin. By car, it can be reached via the SP589 "dei Laghi di Avigliana" or the SP138; ample parking is available in the town center. By train, the reference station is Pinerolo, connected by local buses, or Turin with a subsequent bus connection.
Admission to the event is free. Some sessions (yoga, meditation, music therapy, individual consultations) and gastronomic events require booking. For information: Pro Loco Cumiana, tel. +39 333 9778108, email [email protected].
