In Cosio Valtellino, a municipality in the province of Sondrio in Valtellina, the Arrosticini Festival is a historic gastronomic event, now in its 25th edition. The absolute stars are the arrosticini, the famous grilled sheep meat skewers, a symbol of Abruzzese culinary tradition, offered here in an alpine setting that enhances their flavour.

Five evenings of taste

The festival takes place over five evenings across two weekends in September, in the charming locality of Roncaiola, at the Parish of Cosio San Martino. The arrosticini, strictly grilled, are the main dish, but the menu also offers other traditional specialties, accompanied by an aperitif in the bar area before the evenings begin. An opportunity to gather around the table in good company, during the early autumn evenings in Valtellina.

A parish and community festival

Organized by the Parish of Cosio S. Martino, the festival has a strong community character, the result of the work of volunteers. Reservation is mandatory, a sign of the large attendance that the event attracts each year. For Cosio Valtellino and the entire area, it has become an anticipated event, capable of uniting good food and socialising.
