The race in the heart of the Dolomites, along the old railway between Cortina and Dobbiaco
The Cortina Dobbiaco Run is a running race of about 30 kilometers that connects Cortina d'Ampezzo, in the province of Belluno, to Dobbiaco (Toblach), in South Tyrol. Starting from Corso Italia, in the heart of Cortina, and finishing in the park of the Grand Hotel in Dobbiaco: a route that has become a classic on the international running calendar.
The route largely follows the track of the former Dolomites railway, with a predominantly dirt surface on a slight incline. It passes through tunnels and suspension bridges, amidst natural scenery that offers unforgettable views: the most famous point is the overlook of the iconic Tre Cime di Lavaredo. The gentle but constant gradient makes the race accessible to a wide range of enthusiasts, from top runners to amateurs.
With thousands of participants in every edition, the Cortina Dobbiaco Run is much more than a race: it is a celebration of sport and the mountains that unites two symbolic locations of the Dolomites. The race weekend offers a program full of initiatives, non-competitive runs, and events open to everyone, in a territory that is a UNESCO World Heritage site.
The XXVI edition of the Cortina Dobbiaco Run took place on Sunday, May 31st, 2026. The start was set for 9:30 AM from Corso Italia, in the center of Cortina d'Ampezzo, with the finish in the park of the Grand Hotel in Dobbiaco.
The route, about 30 km long, followed the path of the former Dolomites railway, passing through tunnels and suspension bridges, with spectacular views of the Tre Cime di Lavaredo. Approximately 2,800 participants took part in the race.
