The fun run through the streets of Cossato
CorriCossato is the fun run that brings the streets of Cossato, a town in the Province of Biella, Piedmont, to life every year. Born as a moment for sport and social gathering, it has become one of the most anticipated events of the Cossato spring: a long, colorful line of walkers crossing the town at dusk, accompanied by applause, music, and great popular participation.
This is not a competitive race but a fun run open to everyone: children, families, sports groups, and casual enthusiasts. Each edition gathers around 2,000 participants, a sign of the deep bond between the event and the Cossato community. The route, approximately 5.2 kilometers long, winds through the town's streets in a festive atmosphere that involves the entire community.
The meeting point is the central Piazza Croce Rossa Italiana, where registration opens in the late afternoon, around 5:30 PM. The start is scheduled for the evening, at 8:00 PM: a choice that gives the walk a special atmosphere, with the town illuminated and the streets closed to traffic for the occasion.
The event is organized by the Amici dello Sport association, with the patronage of the Municipality of Cossato and the technical support of ASD Splendor 1922, a historic local running club. Safety along the route is guaranteed by the collaboration of volunteers, civil protection associations, and local law enforcement.
CorriCossato also maintains an important charitable purpose: the symbolic registration fee is donated to the schools participating in the initiative, distributed based on the number of participants from each institution. Walking together thus becomes a way to support the Cossato school community.
