About Corri Lavino

In Scafa, in the province of Pescara, the Corri Lavino invites runners to experience one of the most picturesque corners of Abruzzo: Lavino Park, with its intense blue waters fed by the river's sulfur springs. Launched in 2023 and part of the Corrilabruzzo UISP circuit, the event combines a 10 km competitive race, a non-competitive run, and a 5 km fun walk open to everyone. With start and finish lines inside the park, a route through the center of Scafa, and a final refreshment area featuring local products, it is a true celebration of sport, nature, and community.

Running through the blue springs of the Lavino

The Corri Lavino is the running race that brings Scafa, a town in the province of Pescara, to life every summer in the heart of Abruzzo. The meeting point, as well as the start and finish line, is Lavino Park in Contrada Decontra: a protected natural area established in 1987, famous for its sulfur springs that give the river a unique, shimmering blue-azure color found nowhere else in the region.

A route between nature and town

The course, approximately 10.1 km long, starts from Lavino Park, reaches the town center of Scafa, and returns to the park. Much of the route follows cycle paths, set in a lush green environment that makes the run enjoyable even for those primarily seeking a connection with nature. The event offers three ways to participate:

  • Competitive race over 10.1 km, valid for the Corrilabruzzo circuit;
  • Non-competitive run over the same distance, for those who prefer to run without a ranking;
  • 5 km fun walk, suitable for families and walkers.

A circuit, a territory

The Corri Lavino is organized by ASD Vini Fantini and is part of the Corrilabruzzo UISP circuit, with the patronage of the Abruzzo Region, the Italian Athletics Federation (FIDAL), and OPES Abruzzo. Since its first edition in 2023, the event has grown rapidly, attracting hundreds of participants and establishing itself as one of the most anticipated appointments of the Pescara summer running calendar.

Sport, flavors, and conviviality

One of the hallmarks of the Corri Lavino is its focus on the local territory and cuisine. All registered participants receive a commemorative medal and a race pack with local food products. After the race, a convivial refreshment area offers traditional dishes, such as spelt salad and a main course, to be enjoyed in the shade of the park. This combination of sport, nature, and Abruzzese flavors makes the day a true festival for the entire Scafa community.

An event for everyone

Open to registered athletes, amateurs, and walking enthusiasts alike, the Corri Lavino is designed as a moment of inclusive sport and a way to promote a precious natural heritage. Running along the banks of the Lavino, amidst blue waters and Mediterranean scrub, means discovering an authentic and still little-known corner of inland Abruzzo.

Corri Lavino — edition 2026

The Corri Lavino returns to Scafa for a new edition in the summer of 2026, once again starting and finishing in Lavino Park, in Contrada Decontra. As of the time of writing, the official dates for the 2026 edition have not yet been announced; the event traditionally takes place in July, as in the 2024 and 2025 editions. The detailed program, including times, routes, and registration methods, will be communicated by the organizers of ASD Vini Fantini and the Corrilabruzzo UISP circuit in the weeks leading up to the event.

The 2026 edition of the Corri Lavino is expected in Scafa (province of Pescara, Abruzzo) during the summer. As with previous editions, the meeting point will be Lavino Park in Contrada Decontra, with its characteristic setting of sulfur springs and blue waters.

The official dates for the 2026 edition have not yet been announced at the time of writing. Based on previous editions, the race is expected to confirm the format featuring a 10 km competitive and non-competitive run, as well as a 5 km walk, within the Corrilabruzzo UISP circuit. The program, schedule, and registration details will be published by the organizers in the weeks preceding the event.
