The patronal feast of the Corpus Domini district in Montecatini Terme, featuring a market, bomboloni, and live music.
The Corpus Domini Patronal Feast is one of the most cherished summer events in Montecatini Terme, located in the province of Pistoia in the heart of the Tuscan Valdinievole. For nearly thirty years, the Corpus Domini parish on Via Marruota has organized this celebration, which serves as a moment of devotion, a social gathering for the neighborhood, and a major draw for visitors and curious onlookers from across the region.
The event revolves around two complementary aspects: during the day, the Via Marruota Market, a long stroll through stalls filling the southern part of the street between Via Leonardo da Vinci and Via Marche; in the evening, the parish festival at the church, featuring food stands, music, and the unmissable distribution of bomboloni.
From the early hours of the morning, the street fills with stalls dedicated to arts and crafts, antiques, vintage items, and collectibles. It is the perfect opportunity for those who love browsing through objects from the past, unique pieces, and handmade creations while leisurely walking through the neighborhood streets, with local shops also remaining open for the occasion.
As evening falls, the festivities move to the Corpus Domini Church at Via Marruota 105. The traditional food stands and charity stalls, managed by parish volunteers, open their doors. The most anticipated moment is the distribution of bomboloni (also available in a gluten-free version), a true symbol of the feast, so much so that many locals refer to it as the "bombolone festival." The evening concludes with a live concert, turning the square into a large dance floor filled with joy.
The event is born from the collaboration between the Corpus Domini Parish, the Pinocchio 3000 Cultural Association, the Montecatini Terme Municipal Administration, and the local Misericordia. Over the years, the festival has been enriched by related local initiatives, such as promotional days at the Snai Sesana racetrack, confirming how deeply rooted this event has become in the life of the spa town and the Valdinievole area.
The main day opened at 9:00 AM with the Via Marruota Market: arts, crafts, antiques, vintage items, and collectibles along the southern part of the street, with local shops open, children's entertainment areas, and street food points. The market stalls closed around 7:00 PM.
In 2026, the festival once again confirmed itself as one of the most beloved events in the Corpus Domini district of Montecatini Terme, with free admission.
