Sportambula – Uzzano White Night

A White Night in the heart of the Valdinievole

Sportambula is the White Night of the municipality of Uzzano, a small village in the province of Pistoia overlooking the Valdinievole valley in Tuscany. As the organizers themselves define it, it is the most important event of the Uzzano summer: an evening to be experienced in one breath, where sports, music, fun, and entertainment blend together to engage both adults and children.

For one night, the town's squares and streets are cleared of cars and become a large open-air stage. The heart of the event is Piazza della Costituzione, but the festivities extend along the provincial road and the surrounding squares, which are transformed into hubs of flavor, sports, and entertainment.

Sports, music, and street food

The name itself reflects the spirit of the festival: sports take center stage with demonstrations, open trials, and activities offered by local sports organizations. Alongside the sports, the evening thrives on street food, Slow Food stalls, and culinary offerings curated by local merchants and associations.

A community event

Sportambula is, above all, a grassroots village festival: at the forefront are the volunteer associations of Uzzano, who, together with the Municipality and the MaMò and Clarte associations, make the event possible. The initiative is part of the Giugno Uzzanese calendar, the summer program that accompanies residents and visitors throughout the month.

Born in the 2010s and having grown into a fixed summer appointment, the White Night paused after 2019 before returning with great participation, confirming itself year after year as one of the most cherished events in the Pistoia Valdinievole.
