The Cornaiano Firefighters' Summer Festival

The Cornaiano-Colterenzio Volunteer Firefighters Festival (in German Fest der Freiwilligen Feuerwehr Girlan-Schreckbichl) is one of the most deeply rooted village festivals in the Municipality of Appiano sulla strada del vino (Eppan an der Weinstraße), in the heart of the Oltradige area, in the province of Bolzano, in the Trentino-Alto Adige region. Every year, at the beginning of summer, the volunteer fire brigade opens the doors of its festival grounds to welcome residents and visitors for a long weekend of celebration.

A Community Tradition

In South Tyrol, festivals organized by the Volunteer Firefighters (Freiwillige Feuerwehr) are much more than just an event: they are a pillar of village life. The proceeds from the festival support the volunteer work of the brigade, which is committed year-round to protecting people, animals, and property.
