About CORIandoli d'Estate

CORIandoli d'Estate is a choral festival that brings the heart of the Abruzzo summer to life in Carsoli and the village of Pietrasecca. Featuring a series of free concerts by diverse choirs, the event is promoted by the Pietralunare Artistic and Cultural Association under the patronage of the Municipality of Carsoli. From Gregorian chants to Renaissance polyphony, gospel, and pop, the festival showcases great vocal music in historic local churches, creating an intimate atmosphere that has sold out every performance.

A choral festival between Carsoli and Pietrasecca

CORIandoli d'Estate is a choral music festival held between the main town of Carsoli, in the province of L'Aquila, and the small mountain village of Pietrasecca, in the hinterland of Abruzzo. The initiative is promoted by the Pietralunare Artistic and Cultural Association with the patronage of the Municipality of Carsoli and offers a series of free concerts, each featuring a different choral group.

The format: four choirs, four repertoires

The common thread of the festival is variety: each evening is dedicated to a different choral ensemble, with a repertoire ranging from sacred music and Gregorian chants to Renaissance polyphony, gospel, and pop songs. The concerts are held in the area's historic churches โ€” particularly the Church of the Madonna del Carmine in Carsoli and the church in Pietrasecca โ€” intimate spaces that enhance the acoustics and the warmth of choral singing.

A community event

Beyond the musical program, CORIandoli d'Estate is an event deeply rooted in the local community. Public participation has exceeded expectations, with sold-out audiences at every concert. The atmosphere is made even more unique by artisanal details, such as the crochet decorations created by the "Uncinettine" of Pietrasecca, which adorn the host venues.

The setting: Carsoli and the Piana del Cavaliere

Carsoli is located in the so-called Piana del Cavaliere, a border area between Abruzzo and Lazio crossed by an ancient route towards Rome. The festival weaves this crossroads heritage with a network of choirs from Abruzzo and Lazio, offering the public a broad and high-quality vocal panorama in a charming natural and scenic setting.

CORIandoli d'Estate โ€” edition 2026

The 2026 edition of CORIandoli d'Estate featured four concerts from June 12 to July 4, between Carsoli and Pietrasecca. Four different choirs performed with repertoires ranging from sacred music to gospel and pop, selling out every event.
