The major showcase of theatre for new generations in Forlì
For over twenty years, Colpi di Scena has been the benchmark event for theatre dedicated to new generations in Italy. The biennial festival takes place in Forlì, in the heart of Romagna, making the provincial capital a national crossroads for companies, operators, programmers, and families. The initiative is promoted by Accademia Perduta/Romagna Teatri — one of Italy's leading theatre production centres — in collaboration with ATER Fondazione, under the artistic direction of Claudio Casadio and Ruggero Sintoni.
For four intense days, Colpi di Scena animates Forlì's numerous theatre spaces: the Teatro Diego Fabbri, Teatro il Piccolo, Teatro Testori, Ex ATR, Teatro Felix Guattari, with excursions also to the Teatro Masini in Faenza. The audience moves from one venue to another, following a packed schedule of performances that run from morning to evening, in a festive atmosphere that involves the entire city and makes Forlì a true theatre hub.
The festival is a showcase: it presents new productions of Italian youth theatre, with a significant number of national premieres and previews selected from hundreds of applications received from companies across Italy. The programme ranges from fairy tales reinterpreted in a contemporary style, classical myths, storytelling, actor's theatre, dance, and contemporary circus, with a constant focus on themes of inclusion and growth. The performances are designed for different age groups, from the youngest children to high school students, but they speak with the same intensity to adults as well.
Aimed at both industry professionals — directors, actors, distributors, theatre managers — and local families, Colpi di Scena represents a moment of exchange and discovery for Italian youth theatre. For the city of Forlì and for the entire Emilia-Romagna region, it is also an opportunity to experience its theatres in a new way, free of charge and open to all.
The 14th edition of the Colpi di Scena biennale enlivens Forlì from June 23rd to 26th, 2026, with 16 shows, including 13 national premieres, selected from over 140 applications from companies and groups across Italy. Under the artistic direction of Claudio Casadio and Ruggero Sintoni, the programme blends contemporary re-interpretations of fairy tales, classical myths, storytelling, dance, and contemporary circus. Accademia Perduta/Romagna Teatri presents five new productions, created by Compagnia del Buco, Nadia Milani, TCP Tanti Cosi Progetti, Teatro Città Murata, and Factory Compagnia Transadriatica. Performances are held in Forlì's city centre theatres, with one show at the Teatro Masini in Faenza. Admission is free until seats are filled, with mandatory booking.
The complete and updated schedule can be found on the website accademiaperduta.it.
