The pinkest Carnival in Europe in Piazza della Repubblica
ColoriAmo Ponsacco is the Carnival festival that transforms the center of Ponsacco, a lively town in the Valdera area of the province of Pisa, into a massive playground for children and families every year. The heart of the event is Piazza della Repubblica, which fills up for an afternoon with costumes, confetti, balloons, and colors. With a touch of Tuscan irony, the organizers have dubbed it "the pinkest Carnival in Europe": fuchsia has become the trademark and the chromatic leitmotif of the event.
The festival is organized by the Municipality of Ponsacco through the Department of Culture, with the lead association Fantagiokando managing the operations. The model is based on co-design: working alongside the Municipality is a dense network of local associations, including groups like Artwork Village, Movimento Shalom, La Tana dei Sogni, the Compagnia dei Rubbaorsi, local parishes, Misericordia, Pubblica Assistenza, Avis, Auser, scout groups, and numerous town districts. It is this choral participation that gives the event its authentic village festival character, where the entire community gathers in the square.
The program is designed primarily for the little ones, but it engages all ages. Among the day's attractions, you will find:
The afternoon is hosted by presenter Marco Vincent, a familiar face at the event's editions.
Over the years, ColoriAmo Ponsacco has established itself as one of the most cherished Carnival events in the Valdera area, serving as an occasion for social connection and vitality in the town center. Far from the spectacle of the major Tuscan carnivals, the Ponsacco festival focuses entirely on a community and family-oriented dimension: a homemade Carnival, created by associations and districts for their own citizens, in the true spirit of a village.
The 2026 edition of ColoriAmo Ponsacco was held on Sunday, February 15, in Piazza della Repubblica, from 2:30 PM to 6:00 PM. The date, originally set for February 8, was postponed by a week due to uncertain weather. The event, organized by the Municipality of Ponsacco with the Fantagiokando association and a network of local groups, confirmed its identity as the "pinkest Carnival in Europe".
Hosted by presenter Marco Vincent. The first 300 children and teenagers up to 14 years old received a complimentary gift.
