The colorful fun run painting the streets of Porcari
Color Corriamo is one of the most beloved and vibrant summer events in Porcari, a small town in the Lucca Plain, Tuscany. This is not a competitive race, but a festive, non-competitive walk open to all ages and fitness levels: the goal is not the clock, but a smile. Participants start dressed in white and, as they traverse the town streets, are progressively covered in non-toxic colored powders, eventually turning into a cheerful, rainbow-colored crowd.
The route, approximately four kilometers long, winds through the town center and features four color stations—yellow, green, light blue, and fuchsia—placed along the way. At each station, participants are showered with a different cloud of color, in a chromatic crescendo that culminates at the Torretta, the iconic landmark of Porcari. The participation kit includes a white t-shirt and the colors that will bring the festival to life.
The event is organized by the Porcari Attiva local business association, in collaboration with the Municipality of Porcari, and represents one of the highlights of the weekend festivities that animate Piazza Felice Orsi. The initiative involves families, young people, and local associations, confirming itself as a social gathering that combines light exercise, music, and local spirit.
Located just a few kilometers from Lucca and Altopascio, Porcari is a town in the Lucchesia area known for its lively community life and its summer calendar, the Estate Porcarese, which offers concerts, shows, and initiatives for the entire community. Color Corriamo fits into this context as the most spectacular and popular event, capable of attracting hundreds of residents and visitors from neighboring towns every year.
The 2026 edition of Color Corriamo, the seventh of the event, was held on Saturday, June 13, 2026, in Porcari (Lucca). The start was set for 5:00 PM from Piazza Felice Orsi, with a return expected around 7:00 PM. The walk was the highlight of an entire weekend of events promoted by the Porcari Attiva local business association in collaboration with the Municipality.
The route wound through the town streets with the usual four color stations—yellow, green, light blue, and fuchsia—up to the finish at the Torretta. The day was part of the Estate Porcarese program and the weekend festival that animated the square with food stands and music.
Color Corriamo was the heart of a weekend of events promoted by Porcari Attiva, featuring the "Fiesta Loca" and food stands with flavors from all over Italy and the world, open for lunch and dinner in Piazza Felice Orsi.
Porcari is located in the Lucca Plain, along the axis between Lucca and Altopascio. By car, it is easily accessible from the A11 Firenze-Mare motorway (Capannori or Altopascio exit). By train, the Porcari station is served by the Lucca-Florence line, just a few minutes' walk from the center.
The start is set in Piazza Felice Orsi, in the center of Porcari, which also hosts food stalls and musical events during the weekend.
Wear white or light-colored clothes that you don't mind getting dirty: the colors are non-toxic but they do leave a mark. Bring sunglasses or light eye protection and plenty of enthusiasm. The event is designed for families and children.
