About Romagnano Earth Market

In Romagnano Sesia, the Colline Novaresi Earth Market brings a day dedicated to good, clean, and fair food to Piazza della Libertà. Part of the Slow Food Earth Market network, the event gathers around twenty small-scale food producers and artisans from the Novara area, offering fresh, seasonal, and locally sourced products. Stalls feature fresh produce, cheeses, rice, flour, sweets, and craft beer in a plastic-free setting, complete with music, face painting, and magic shows for the whole family.

The Slow Food Earth Market in Romagnano Sesia

Every spring, Piazza della Libertà in Romagnano Sesia, located in the heart of the Bassa Valsesia in the Province of Novara, transforms into the stage for the Colline Novaresi Earth Market. This event marks the opening of the itinerant Earth Market circuit promoted by the Slow Food Colline Novaresi chapter: a gathering that focuses on good, clean, and fair food and the direct relationship between producers and consumers.

A network that celebrates the territory

The Earth Market is part of the international Slow Food Earth Market network, created to shorten the supply chain and strengthen awareness of shopping based on local products. The Colline Novaresi branch opened its doors in April 2024, following years of work to involve small local producers, and today it brings together a community of dozens of businesses that respect the environment and biodiversity.

Locally sourced products from the Novara region

In the square, you will meet about twenty small producers and food artisans offering fresh, seasonal, and locally sourced goods. Stalls include:

  • seasonal fruit and vegetables;
  • rice and flour from the Novara rice paddies and fields;
  • cheeses, cured meats, honey, and jams;
  • artisanal sweets, bread, and pasta;
  • craft beer, oils, grappas, and specialties based on saffron and lavender.

The market is entirely plastic-free: only compostable tableware and cutlery are used, in line with the philosophy of respecting the territory promoted by Slow Food.

A day for the whole family

The event is about more than just quality shopping. For children, there is face painting and roaming magic shows, while music and entertainment accompany the day. The refreshment area managed by the Pro Loco offers hot dishes prepared with local products, for a lunch dedicated to local flavors.

Between culture and spring

The Romagnano Sesia event takes place in conjunction with the FAI Spring Days, offering the opportunity to visit open cultural sites in the area on the same day. The initiative is organized by the Slow Food Colline Novaresi chapter together with the Municipality of Romagnano Sesia and the Pro Loco, with the collaboration of schools and local cultural entities such as the Bonfantini Institute, the Casorati Art High School, and the Historical and Ethnographic Museum of Bassa Valsesia.
