The Festival of the Colfiorito IGP Red Potato
The Colfiorito Red Potato Market Exhibition and Festival celebrates one of the symbolic products of the Foligno mountains: the Colfiorito Red Potato IGP. It takes place in Colfiorito, a hamlet of Foligno (province of Perugia), on the homonymous Apennine plateau on the border between Umbria and Marche.
A Unique Product
The Colfiorito Red Potato IGP is recognizable by its elongated oval shape, thin reddish skin, and light yellow flesh. Its unmistakable flavor comes from the high-altitude siliceous soils and the cool mountain climate: characteristics that make it a prized variety, protected by the IGP mark.
Gastronomy and Market Exhibition
In the large square of Colfiorito, the food stands offer traditional potato-based dishes: gnocchi, baked potatoes, and the famous sweet potato ring cake. Alongside the food, there is a market exhibition of typical products and local crafts, workshops for children, and evening entertainment with live music and a DJ area for the younger crowd.
Organized by the Pro Loco of Colfiorito, the festival is a highly anticipated end-of-summer event, capable of combining the promotion of an excellent product with the conviviality of a village festival.
Colfiorito Red Potato Festival — edition 2026
The 2026 edition of the festival runs from August 14 to 23 on the plateau of Colfiorito, a hamlet of Foligno. The absolute star is the Colfiorito Red Potato IGP, featured in the food stands with gnocchi, baked potatoes, and the very famous sweet potato ring cake.
In addition to gastronomy, the program includes a market exhibition of local products and crafts, workshops for children, and evening entertainment with live music and dancing, as well as a DJ area dedicated to the younger crowd. The event is organized by the Pro Loco of Colfiorito.

How to get there
Colfiorito is reached from Foligno along the SS77 towards Marche, on the homonymous plateau. Foligno is served by the railway (Rome-Ancona and Rome-Florence lines) and by the SS75 and SS3 Flaminia roads.
Opening hours and admission
Free admission. The food stands and the market exhibition are open on the festival days, with live music every evening.
