About Coci e Mangia

Coci e Mangia is the summer street food festival that brings Piazza Progresso in Raffadali, in the province of Agrigento, to life. For three days, around twenty local businesses showcase traditional Raffadali and Sicilian culinary delights, while the stage lights up with live bands, street bands, and DJ sets. Born from a collaboration between the ANAS Association, the CNA, and the local municipality, the event combines the promotion of local productsโ€”starting with the famous Raffadali almondโ€”with the fun and conviviality of Sicilian summer evenings.

Coci e Mangia, street food in the heart of Sicily

Coci e Mangia โ€“ Street Food Festival is one of the most anticipated summer gastronomic events in Raffadali, a town in the Agrigento hinterland known for its rural heritage and prized almonds. For three days, the town center, particularly Piazza Progresso in the area adjacent to the Mother Church, transforms into a large open-air village of taste, where traditional specialties meet live music and entertainment.

The taste of the territory in the square

The heart of the festival lies in its food stalls: about twenty local businesses present traditional Raffadali and Sicilian dishes, prepared on the spot and designed to be enjoyed while strolling among the stands. Street food thus becomes a tasting journey that tells the story of the flavors of the province of Agrigento, from baked goods to almond-based sweets, a symbolic identity of the town.

Music, shows, and conviviality

The event is not just about food: every evening features concerts, street bands, group dancing, and DJ sets that animate the squares until late at night. The opening is marked by the lighting of the illuminations, while the following days feature alternating bands, street artists, and dance evenings that involve families, young people, and visitors from neighboring towns.

A project for the territory

Coci e Mangia was born from the collaboration between the ANAS Association, the CNA, and the Municipal Administration of Raffadali, with the goal of promoting the local economy, small businesses, and local craftsmanship. The artistic direction of recent editions has been entrusted to Giovanni Gentile.
