Cinema under the stars in the grounds of Palazzo San Giacomo in Russi
Cine-San Giacomo is the open-air film series that enlivens summer evenings in Russi, in the province of Ravenna, in the heart of Emilia-Romagna. Throughout the summer, every Tuesday in July and August, the lawn surrounding Palazzo San Giacomo becomes a large open-air cinema: you sit on the grass, wait for evening to fall, and as soon as it gets dark, the screening under the stars begins.
Palazzo San Giacomo is one of the most important noble residences in Romagna, surrounded by greenery along Via Carrarone Rasponi, just outside the town of Russi. Projecting a film outdoors in this space means combining the magic of cinema with the charm of a place steeped in history: the audience settles on the lawn and experiences an evening that is both a popular ritual and a moment of culture, typical of country summers when people gather outdoors as the heat becomes milder.
Cine-San Giacomo is part of the broader program of Russi Estate, the summer program promoted by the Municipality of Russi, which transforms the city and its hamlets into a widespread stage, where the beauty of historic places meets the energy of music, cinema, and civic creativity. Alongside the Tuesday screenings, the Russi summer offers concerts, exhibitions, workshops, and picnics at the Palace, leading up to the highly anticipated Fira di Sett Dulur in the autumn.
The free formula and the outdoor setting make Cine-San Giacomo perfect for families, for those looking for a different evening out, and for those who want to discover a charming corner of the Russi area. It's the simplest and most genuine way to enjoy cinema in the summer: at a leisurely pace, under the sky of Bassa Romagna.
The 2026 edition of Cine-San Giacomo confirms the formula loved by the people of Russi: screenings every Tuesday in July and August in the grounds of Palazzo San Giacomo, with free admission, starting at dusk (after 9:00 PM). The series is part of the Russi Estate 2026 program, promoted by the Municipality of Russi, which brings cinema, music, exhibitions, and picnics at the Palace to the city until September.
The film schedule for the 2026 edition has not yet been published by the Municipality of Russi. The screening evenings every Tuesday in July and August, starting at dusk, after 9:00 PM, are confirmed.
As in previous editions, the series will feature a selection of recent titles and films for the whole family. The detailed program with individual titles and dates will be announced by the Culture Office of the Municipality of Russi in the weeks preceding the start of the series.
