About Children's Charity Market

In the heart of the historic center of Impruneta, near Florence, the Children's Charity Market returns every spring for two days of discovery and solidarity in Piazza Buondelmonti. Organized by the La Barazzina Association, the market fills the square with stalls featuring toys, books, retro items, vintage clothing, costume jewelry, and all sorts of treasures. All proceeds are donated to support the association's local community projects. It is a beloved town tradition for locals and visitors exploring the Chianti hills.

A charity market in the heart of the Chianti hills

The Children's Charity Market is one of the most cherished events in the calendar of Impruneta, nestled in the Chianti hills near Florence. Every spring, the picturesque Piazza Buondelmonti, the town's historic living room, transforms into a large open-air market dedicated to curated second-hand goods, retro finds, and vintage treasures. Held over a weekend, the event is a celebration of curiosity and solidarity, with free admission for all.

Stalls and what you can find

The heart of the event lies in the many stalls that bring the square to life from morning until evening. You can discover all kinds of items: toys, books, ornaments, retro collectibles, costume jewelry, pottery, and vintage clothing, along with many other pieces donated by the community. It is a haven for treasure hunters looking for a bargain, a collector's item, or a simple memento, all set in a relaxed, family-friendly atmosphere that has become the event's hallmark.

The La Barazzina Association

Behind the market is the voluntary work of the La Barazzina Association, which has been active in the Impruneta area for over thirty years. The mechanism is a "perfect circle": volunteers collect items donated by citizens, give them new life through the market, and donate all proceeds to social utility projects. Over the years, the association has supported numerous local initiatives, from Impruneta's schools to local volunteer groups, including the recent donation of a vehicle to the Auser of Impruneta.

A community event

More than just a market, the event is a town festival that draws locals, curious visitors, and tourists from the surrounding area. Supported by the Municipality of Impruneta, the Children's Charity Market combines the spirit of reuse and the circular economy with the joy of giving, turning every purchase into a small gesture of support for the community. A visit to the market is also the perfect opportunity to discover Impruneta, a town famous for its terracotta and traditions, just a few kilometers from Florence.
