Tortoreto's seafront transforms into a playground wonderland
The Children's Pink Night is one of the most anticipated and cherished summer events in Tortoreto, a seaside town in the province of Teramo, on the Abruzzo coast. For one evening, the Lungomare Sirena in Tortoreto Lido, in the stretch between Rotonda Carducci and Rotonda Monti, turns into an immense playground designed entirely for children and their families.
The event brings the entire waterfront to life with numerous free-entry themed stations: group games, sports activities, creative workshops, road safety education, entertainment, young talent performances, and moments dedicated to children's health and safety. Regular features include the Pompieropoli (Firefighter City) by the Fire Brigade, activities by the Italian Red Cross, and initiatives by the Carabinieri, which combine fun with educational messages. Circus artists, acrobats, and roving performers also accompany the public along the entire route.
Originally a neighborhood festival for family tourism, the Children's Pink Night has grown into a staple of the Municipality of Tortoreto's summer calendar, organized in collaboration with local hotel and tourism associations under the artistic direction of Federico Branella. The event confirms Tortoreto's reputation as one of the most welcoming destinations for families on the Teramo coast.
The Children's Pink Night takes place on an evening in late June, starting at 6:00 PM, and continues until late at night with the final show. Admission to all play areas and shows is free. The event is held on the Lungomare Sirena in Tortoreto Lido, easily accessible on foot from the center of the seaside resort.
The tenth edition brought the Lungomare Sirena of Tortoreto to life on Saturday, June 27, 2026, from 6:00 PM, under the artistic direction of Federico Branella. To celebrate ten years, the Magic Village Experience was set up: a scenic village inspired by fairy tales featuring a giant castle, a monumental Mickey Mouse, the Seven Dwarfs, and Cinderella's carriage.
Along the route, there was no shortage of the Fire Brigade's Pompieropoli, the Toy Band, activities by the Italian Red Cross, and initiatives by the Carabinieri, alongside circus and acrobatic shows. The evening concluded with the final show K-Pop – The Hunters of Darkness, featuring music, dance, and stage effects. Free admission.
