Librarsi, the culture of books in Grottammare
Librarsi is the cultural review that the Pro Loco Lido degli Aranci dedicates to books and their authors in Grottammare, a pearl of the Riviera delle Palme in the province of Ascoli Piceno, in the Marche region. Born to offer the city a stable space for meeting with writing, the review has established itself over the years as one of the most followed cultural events in the municipality, with the patronage of the municipal administration.
A calendar that spans the entire year
The strength of Librarsi lies in its continuity: the meetings are not concentrated in a few days but are spread throughout the seasons, from autumn to spring to the heart of summer. In winter and spring, the events are held indoors, between the Teatro delle Energie, the Ospitale, the Sala Consiliare, and the Teatro Kursaal; in summer, the review moves outdoors, under the suggestive Logge di Piazza Peretti, in the heart of the old town, and in Piazza Kursaal.
Themes and guests
Librarsi alternates big names from the national scene with new authors from the Piceno territory. The themes range from dialect to cuisine, from poetry to news, up to fiction and non-fiction. Among the guests who have animated the review are prominent figures: from the internationally renowned Egyptologist to writers from the Marche region, from singer-songwriters presenting their books to experts in news and current affairs. Each meeting is accompanied by moderators, readings, and moments of dialogue with the public.

Designed to be accessible to all, Librarsi has always maintained free admission (subject to venue capacity limits), confirming itself as a cultural hub for the citizens of Grottammare and for the many visitors who frequent the Riviera delle Palme. Librarsi 2026 in Grottammare
The 2026 edition of the cultural review Librarsi kicks off in spring and continues throughout the summer season, confirming the formula of free meetings with authors promoted by Pro Loco Lido degli Aranci. The events take place between the Teatro delle Energie, the Ospitale and, in summer, the Logge di Piazza Peretti, in the heart of the historic center of Grottammare.

- Zahi Hawass presents his autobiography L'uomo con il cappello, a journey through archaeological discoveries, celebrities, and passion for Egypt by the renowned Egyptologist.
May 9, 2026 — L'Ospitale (5:30 PM)
- Walter Vallesi presents the novel Giocando con mia madre, dedicated to the theme of abandonment syndrome. With Roberta Vitelli (psychotherapist), Barbara Toce (Centro Studi Carducci), and the voice of Paolo Ripani.
June 26, 2026 — Piazza Kursaal
- Carl Fanini presents Back from Nowhere Land, an event that opens the summer cycle of the review.
Summer 2026 — Logge di Piazza Peretti
The review continues throughout the summer with new outdoor events under the Logge di Piazza Peretti, in connection with the city's summer program. The complete calendar is updated by the Pro Loco and the Municipality during the season.

How to get there
Grottammare can be reached by train (station on the Bologna-Lecce Adriatic line) or by car via the A14 motorway, Grottammare exit. The Teatro delle Energie is located at Via Ischia I, 301; the Ospitale and the Logge di Piazza Peretti are in the historic center (Vecchio Incasato).

The meetings are free and open to the public, subject to capacity limits. Reservations may be required for some events.
