The magic of Christmas at the Torre Carlo V in Martinsicuro
This edition has not been confirmed by the organiser to date. We recommend checking before going.
During the Advent season, the Torre Carlo V in Martinsicuro, in the province of Teramo, dresses up for the holidays and becomes Santa's Village. The ancient coastal tower, built in 1547 as a defensive bulwark along the mouth of the Tronto river, and its garden are filled with lights, decorations, and Christmas atmosphere, offering both adults and children a much-anticipated appointment in the winter calendar of this Abruzzo town.
The heart of the event is Santa's room, where little ones can meet Santa Claus, deliver their letters, and share their wishes. Around this moment, animations, bright decorations, and activities are developed to involve families in a festive atmosphere. All activities take place indoors, ensuring the event goes ahead regardless of the typical December weather conditions.
A distinctive element of the event is the Christmas Storytellers, the animated readings curated by the theater company Il Satiro APS. Through tales such as Christmas with the Elves, The Christmas Interview, A Surprising Christmas, and The Gifts of Christmas, the audience is taken on an emotional journey that explores the most authentic values of the season: wonder, commitment, generosity, mutual respect, and love for nature. Over the years, the Village has also featured famous theatrical adaptations, such as The Nutcracker and a story based on The Planet of Christmas Trees by Gianni Rodari.
Established around 2019, Santa's Village has grown edition after edition to become one of the most recognizable Christmas events in Martinsicuro. The organization is managed by the Municipal Administration of Martinsicuro, with the support of local entities, and is part of the wider program of events that animate the town during the holidays, including concerts, shows for children, and cultural events.
