The Chigiana Chianti Classico Experience is one of the most evocative events of the Chigiana International Festival & Summer Academy, the major summer festival organized in Siena and its surrounding lands by the Fondazione Accademia Musicale Chigiana. The concert hosted at Casina di Cornia, in the municipality of Castellina in Chianti (Province of Siena, Tuscany), brings classical music directly among the Sangiovese rows in one of the historic estates of the Chianti Classico region.

The Chianti Classico Experience series

This series was born from the collaboration between the Chigiana Academy and the Consorzio Vino Chianti Classico, aiming to unite classical chamber repertoire with Tuscan food and wine traditions. The protagonists are the young talented students of the Advanced Musical Perfection Courses at the Chigiana Academy, who perform in the most fascinating estates of the 'Gallo Nero' territory. The project, received with great enthusiasm by both public and critics, strengthens the bond between music and the land, while enhancing the oenological excellence and cultural heritage of Chianti.

The Casina di Cornia estate

Casina di Cornia is a small organic farm founded in 1979 by the Luginbuhl family on the south-western slopes of the Chianti hills, between Siena and Florence. Certified organic since 1983, it produces high-quality wines while respecting the balance of the territory, from Sangiovese to the classic grape varieties of the denomination. Its intimate setting, made of vineyards, olive groves, and woods, offers a genuine and authentic backdrop for listening to chamber music at sunset.

The Chigiana Academy and the festival

Founded in 1932 by Count Guido Chigi Saracini, the Accademia Musicale Chigiana is one of the most prestigious institutions for advanced musical training in the world, a reference point for generations of performers. Every summer, its festival enlivens Siena and the Chianti lands with concerts, operas, and events under the artistic direction of Nicola Sani. The 2026 edition, the twelfth, is developed around the theme «Islands» and takes place from July 7th to September 1st.
