The festival of Sicilian craft beers on the Cefalù seafront
The Cefalù Beer Fest is a food and wine event that every year transforms the seafront of Cefalù, in the heart of the province of Palermo, into a large village dedicated to Sicilian craft beer. The event's headquarters is Piazza Cristoforo Colombo, overlooking the sea and just a few steps from the medieval historic center dominated by the majestic Rocca, a setting that makes this festival one of the most beloved events of the Madonie summer.
The heart of the event is the vast selection of draft beers: in previous editions, over one hundred varieties have been offered from about fifteen Sicilian craft breweries, including well-known island names such as Fratelli Birrafondai, Bruno Ribadi, Irias, Alveria, 24 Baroni, Rock Brewery, La Compagnia del Fermento, and many others. Alongside the pouring stands, there are masterclasses and guided tastings designed to share the secrets of brewing and diverse styles with the public, from light ales to more structured beers.
The Cefalù Beer Fest is not just about beer: along the path of taste, numerous Sicilian street food stands and local products alternate, from baked specialties to grilled meats, to accompany the tasting. The atmosphere is enlivened by live music, street bands, and street performers who animate the evenings with juggling, balancing acts, and roving entertainment. Ample space is also reserved for families and children, with face painting, creative workshops, and recreational activities.
Organized by Scie Market, the event aims to promote local production and bring the public into direct contact with producers in an informal and convivial atmosphere. Admission is free: to taste the beers, it is generally required to purchase a kit with a glass and tokens. Included in the rich summer calendar of Cefalù, a jewel of Sicily and an international tourist destination, the Beer Fest combines the discovery of craft beer with the charm of the sea and the village, offering residents and visitors four days dedicated to taste and sociality.
For 2026, the Cefalù Beer Fest renews itself by extending to four days, scheduled from June 25th to 28th, 2026, on the Cefalù seafront, in the Piazza Cristoforo Colombo area. The event, organized by Scie Market, offers a gourmet journey dedicated to Sicilian craft beers and the island's gastronomic excellence, with tastings, traditional street food, and local products.
The program includes live music, street performer shows, and entertainment moments designed to engage residents, tourists, and families, as well as recreational activities for children. Admission is free, with the aim of promoting local production and connecting the public directly with the breweries and local producers.
Cefalù can be reached by car via the A20 Palermo-Messina motorway (Cefalù exit) or by train: the Cefalù station is well-served by the Tyrrhenian line, with direct connections from Palermo in about an hour. From the station, Piazza Cristoforo Colombo and the seafront are within walking distance.
Access to the festival area is free. To taste the beers, it is generally required to purchase a tasting kit (glass + tokens). Some children's activities, such as workshops and face painting, may require on-site booking.
During the event, Cefalù is very busy: it is recommended to book accommodation in advance and to park in areas outside the historic center, reaching the seafront on foot.
