The South Tyrol gin festival hosted in the historic halls of Castel Schenna
CAUSE I'M G&T — South Tyrol Gin Festival is the spring event dedicated to gin, held in the evocative setting of Castel Schenna (Schloss Schenna) in Scena, the sunny village overlooking Merano in the Province of Bolzano, Trentino-Alto Adige. For an afternoon and evening, the historic halls and the castle courtyard welcome professionals, producers, and enthusiasts eager to discover the world of juniper spirits in all its facets.
The heart of the event is the tastings set up in the ancient castle cellars, running from late afternoon until evening. The best South Tyrolean gin producers present their creations, which can be sampled and purchased: from herbaceous and citrus notes to floral and spicy hints, in a sensory journey that showcases local craftsmanship. The ticket includes admission, a tasting session, and several gin tokens.
As evening falls, the castle courtyard transforms into an elegant lounge: numerous cocktail stations with expert bartenders, DJ sets with relaxed rhythms, and food corners accompany the guests. Not to be missed are the flair bartending shows, featuring acrobatics and light effects, alongside the award ceremony for the best G&T cocktail of the year. The party continues until midnight.
The festival is the highlight of the Schenna GIN Days, a week during which hotels, bars, and restaurants in Scena offer themed experiences: gin-infused breakfasts and menus, aperitifs, masterclasses, and flair bartending shows. It is a perfect opportunity to experience the village and its tradition of hospitality with a contemporary twist.
CAUSE I'M G&T is designed for an adult and passionate audience: access is reserved for those over 18. The refined atmosphere, the castle setting, and the quality of the South Tyrolean producers make it one of the most original food and wine events of the spring in the Municipality of Scena and the entire Merano area.
The fourth edition of the South Tyrol Gin Festival was held on Saturday, May 2, 2026, in the historic halls of Castel Schenna, in Scena (Province of Bolzano). From 4:00 PM to 9:00 PM, the best South Tyrolean producers offered tastings of juniper spirits in the castle's ancient cellars.
In the courtyard, until midnight, cocktail stations, food corners, DJ sets, and flair bartending shows alternated, culminating in the G&T Award for the best cocktail of the year. The festival was the central moment of the Schenna GIN Days (April 26 – May 3, 2026).
