Merano WineFestival Preview in Lagundo

An exclusive preview in the garden village

The Merano WineFestival Preview in Lagundo is one of the most anticipated evenings on the South Tyrolean food and wine calendar. Hosted at the Peter Thalguter Culture House in Lagundo (Algund), in the heart of the village known as the "garden village" at the gates of Merano, the event anticipates the famous Merano WineFestival and condenses its spirit into a single, intense tasting evening.

Over 200 labels signed by the WineHunter

The heart of the event is the selection of over 200 Italian labels, personally chosen by Helmuth Köcher, the founder of the Merano WineFestival known as the WineHunter. From sparkling wines and elegant whites to bold reds and dessert wines, the tasting journey takes visitors on a sensory tour through the variety of the Italian wine landscape. Ample space is also given to local excellence, with wines from Schloss Plars and the Cantina Merano, as well as the most innovative local offerings: PIWI wines from resistant grape varieties and biodynamic productions from Lagundo.

Tastings and local gastronomy

The evening combines the pleasure of the glass with that of the table: tastings are managed and served by students from the SAVOY Hotel Management School in Merano, while numerous local companies offer regional and Italian specialties designed to enhance the paired wines. Each guest receives a guide with ratings and descriptions signed by Helmuth Köcher, a useful companion for navigating the tasting tables.
