A celebration of traditional crafts and mountain flavors in the historic center of Predazzo
Catanaoc 'n Festa is one of the most beloved summer events in Predazzo, located in the Fiemme Valley, in the province of Trento and the Trentino-Alto Adige region. For one evening, several streets in the town's historic center are closed to traffic and returned to pedestrians, who can wander among workshops, stalls, and courtyards transformed into lively meeting places. The event takes place each year in a different district of the town: recent editions have animated the characteristic Rione Pè de Pardac, amidst the houses, porticoes, and alleys that preserve the most authentic soul of Predazzo.
The charm of the festival lies in the rediscovery of the town's heritage. Along the streets, artisans demonstrate ancient trades, showcasing the gestures and tools that belong to the valley's farming and craft culture. Walking from one stall to another, visitors discover the crafts that accompanied the life of mountain communities for generations, in a journey that is also a small exploration of local history, suitable for both adults and children.
Music is the heartbeat of the evening. The event's success is ensured by the presence of various musical groups, choirs, and musicians who fill the district's streets with folk and mountain music. It is the traditional soundtrack of the festival: choral singing, folk melodies, and joy that accompany the public from evening until late at night, when the lights of the historic center reflect on the facades of the old houses.
Gastronomy and traditional Trentino products, prepared and served by Predazzo's volunteer associations, play a leading role. Specialties that can be tasted along the festival route include:
It is a culinary journey that tells the story of the valley through its most genuine flavors, from cheeses to traditional desserts.
Catanaoc 'n Festa is above all a village festival, built by the volunteers and associations of the Municipality of Predazzo, who renew the appointment in the chosen district every year. The organization is supported by the Fiemme and Cembra Tourist Board, which includes the event in the rich summer calendar of the Fiemme Valley. The result is a warm and convivial evening, capable of bringing together residents and visitors to experience the Predazzo of the past for a few hours.
The twenty-fifth evening of celebration returns to Predazzo on Friday, August 21, 2026, from 7:00 PM in the Rione Pè de Pardac. For 2026, the program once again features artisans of old trades along the streets of the district, accompanied by mountain choirs and musical groups, and food stalls from volunteer associations offering the typical flavors of the Fiemme Valley: cheeses, speck and cured meats, rostide potatoes with Puzzone di Moena, polenta and Tosèla, honey, strudel, and apple fritters. The festival continues until late at night in the ancient heart of the town.
Predazzo is located in the Fiemme Valley, in Trentino. By car, it can be reached from the A22 Brenner motorway (exit Egna/Ora or Ora-Val di Fiemme), continuing along the SS48 of the Dolomites. The historic center and the Rione Pè de Pardac are a few minutes' walk from the town center.
The event takes place on an evening in August starting at 7:00 PM and continues until late at night. Access to the district streets is free; the cost of food tastings is paid directly at the individual stalls managed by the associations.
We recommend comfortable clothing and a light jacket for the evening at altitude. For updated information on the date and the district of the current edition, it is best to check the channels of the Fiemme and Cembra Tourist Board and the festival's Instagram page.
