About Castiglioncello Festival

The Castiglioncello Festival, also known as the Armunia Castiglioncello Festival, is the major summer event series that brings the park of Castello Pasquini to life in the seaside hamlet of Castiglioncello, in Rosignano Marittimo (Livorno). Between late July and late August, the evocative arena overlooking the Tuscan sea hosts a series of evenings featuring top Italian music, comedy shows, theatre, and author events. Born from a collaboration between the Municipality of Rosignano Marittimo, the Armunia Foundation, and LEG Live Emotion Group, it is one of the most anticipated events on the Livorno coast.

A summer festival in the heart of the Livorno coast

The Castiglioncello Festival (officially the Armunia Castiglioncello Festival) is the premier live performance series of the summer in Castiglioncello, an elegant seaside hamlet in the Municipality of Rosignano Marittimo, in the province of Livorno, Tuscany. Every year, between the second half of July and the end of August, the festival transforms the park of Castello Pasquini into a large open-air arena overlooking the sea, hosting a mix of concerts, comedy shows, theatre, author talks, and events for all ages.

Castello Pasquini, a stage by the sea

The beating heart of the event is Castello Pasquini, a historic residence nestled in a vast park just a few steps from the famous bay of Castiglioncello. Its arena, set up for the occasion, offers a unique scenic backdrop: the evenings take place under the stars, with the scent of Mediterranean scrub and the breeze of the Tyrrhenian Sea providing the perfect atmosphere. It is no coincidence that Castiglioncello, with its Liberty-style villas and maritime pines, has always been a beloved destination for artists, intellectuals, and filmmakers.

A lineup of big names

The festival stands out for its rich and diverse program, bringing together leading figures from the Italian music scene, comedy, theatre, and jazz. Over the years, the Castello Pasquini stage has welcomed some of the most popular national names, alternating pop concerts, author recitals, and theatrical performances. Alongside music, there is space for evenings dedicated to comedy, cultural meetings, and discussions on sports and current affairs, in a program designed to appeal to different generations.

A public-private collaboration

The event was born from the synergy between the Municipality of Rosignano Marittimo, the Armunia Foundation—a historic local cultural institution, best known for the contemporary theatre and dance festival Inequilibrio—and LEG Live Emotion Group, a company specializing in the organization of concerts and live events. This collaboration guarantees a high-level offering every summer, capable of attracting an audience from all over Tuscany and beyond.

Castiglioncello, pearl of the Etruscan Coast

The festival is also an opportunity to discover or rediscover Castiglioncello and the Etruscan Coast, with its beaches, cliffs, pine forests, and a tourist tradition dating back to the Belle Époque. An evening at Castello Pasquini thus becomes a true summer experience, combining music, the sea, and the relaxed atmosphere of the Tuscan coast.
