The Caselle Torinese Carnival featuring masks, parades, and community celebrations
The Caselle Carnival is the grand festive celebration of the Municipality of Caselle Torinese, a bustling town just outside the regional capital in the Province of Turin, Piedmont. This event is deeply rooted in local life, organized through the collaboration of the Pro Loco of Caselle Torinese, the Informagiovani, the Alpini Group, and the municipal administration. It is an appointment that draws families, children, and costumed groups during the most colorful and lighthearted time of the year.
The heart of the festival is creative masking: each edition features a theme around which participants are invited to build their costumes and compete for the most original design. The Caselle tradition blends the playful spirit of the Italian Carnival with the community-focused atmosphere of a small Piedmontese town, where everyone knows each other and the festival becomes a meeting point for all generations.
In editions featuring a parade, the costumed procession winds through the main streets of Caselle Torinese, enlivening the squares and roads with music, colors, and costumed groups. The day traditionally concludes with the Grand Finale Party, featuring musical entertainment, games for children, and the distribution of hot chocolate and mulled wine, the convivial symbols of this local Carnival.
The Caselle Carnival is designed primarily for children and families: shows, sweets, confetti, and entertainment make this day one of the most anticipated events on the local calendar. Free admission and a welcoming atmosphere make it an event open to the entire region.
Also known for the Turin-Caselle international airport, Caselle Torinese maintains the identity of a vibrant and engaged community, capable of enlivening its historic center during major popular festivals. The Carnival is, along with other events promoted by the Pro Loco, one of the moments that best captures the spirit of the town and the carnival tradition of Piedmont.
