Carnival Maccheronata

The Carnival Maccheronata is one of the most anticipated folk festivals in Pieve di Ledro, the main village of the Ledro municipality in the province of Trento (Trentino-Alto Adige). Every year, during the Carnival season, the Pro Loco Pieve di Ledro invites residents and visitors to gather around the table for a convivial lunch rooted in mountain culinary tradition.

The star dish

At the center of the festival is the famous plate of ragù macaroni, prepared by Pro Loco volunteers following a recipe passed down through generations. Served steaming hot, the pasta is a symbol of a simple and authentic Carnival, far from grand parades and closer to the community spirit of the valley's villages. For the occasion, the Oratory of Pieve di Ledro becomes a warm and welcoming place where neighbors, friends, and passing tourists can sit side by side.
