About Traversetolo Carnival

The Carnival in the Masked Village enlivens the centre of Traversetolo, in the province of Parma, every winter with a colourful parade of masks, masked groups, and music. Organized by Pro Loco Traversetolo together with the parish and the town's schools, the event starts from Largo Cesare Battisti and reaches Piazza Fanfulla, where games, entertainment, and food stalls with typical Carnival sweets await. It is a celebration designed primarily for families and children, in the heart of Emilia-Romagna's popular tradition.

A Carnival Celebration in the Heart of Traversetolo

The Carnival in the Masked Village is the event that transforms the streets of the centre of Traversetolo, a municipality in the province of Parma in Emilia-Romagna, into a cheerful procession of confetti, costumes, and music every year. The event is organized by Pro Loco Traversetolo in collaboration with the local parish and schools, and represents one of the most cherished moments of the Traversetolo winter, capable of attracting families and children from all over the surrounding area.

The Parade: From Largo Battisti to Piazza Fanfulla

The heart of the day is the grand parade of masked groups, which begins in the afternoon from Largo Cesare Battisti and crosses the town centre to reach Piazza Fanfulla. Along the route, masks, costumed children, and musical accompaniment alternate, in a festive and participatory atmosphere. Upon arrival in the square, all the masked groups are presented, with photos, entertainment, and the distribution of gadgets and sweets.

Games, Entertainment, and Carnival Sweets

Once in the square, the Carnival continues with games for children, entertainment shows, and moments of fun suitable for the whole family. There are also food stalls with typical sweets from the Emilia-Romagna Carnival tradition, accompanied by hot drinks to warm up the winter afternoon. The celebration is organized with the contribution of local associations and town volunteers.
