A Carnival afternoon for children organized by the Pro Loco of Polonghera
When February arrives, Polonghera dresses up for Carnival. In this small town in the Cuneo plains, just a few kilometers from the Po River and the border with the Turin area, the Pro Loco of Polonghera organizes an afternoon of entertainment entirely dedicated to children. The event takes place at the association's headquarters at Via Parrocchia 4, drawing local families and those from the surrounding area for a few hours of games, music, and laughter.
The heart of the festival is the entertainment show, tailor-made for a young audience: colorful costumes, music, interactive moments that directly involve the little spectators, and a spectacular fire-eater performance that leaves everyone wide-eyed. This is not a large parade of allegorical floats, but a family-friendly village festival where fun matters more than numbers.
Like many festivals in the small communities of Piedmont, the Polonghera Carnival is above all a moment of gathering. The Pro Loco, which enlivens the local calendar throughout the year with dinners, cultural initiatives, and charity events, focuses on sharing: admission is free, and a snack is provided for all children. It is an opportunity to get together, for the little ones to show off their costumes, and for adults to chat in the true spirit of Carnival.
Polonghera is an agricultural village of just over a thousand inhabitants located in the far north of the province of Cuneo, in Piedmont, along the road connecting the Saluzzo countryside to the Carmagnola area. Far from major tourist flows, it retains the quiet rhythm of the plains, marked by agricultural seasons and the events organized by the Pro Loco throughout the year, from the winter Carnival to the patronal feast of San Severiano in summer.
For the 2026 Carnival, the Pro Loco of Polonghera offered an afternoon of celebration dedicated to children on Sunday, February 22, at its headquarters on Via Parrocchia 4. The event, with free admission, filled the afternoon with color and joy, featuring a show tailor-made for the little ones and their families.
The village in the Cuneo plains thus confirmed its family-friendly Carnival tradition, made of entertainment, music, and great participation.
