The queen of Campanian gastronomy celebrated in the heart of the Caserta province

The Carinaro Pizza Festival, held in a small town in the Aversa area of the Caserta province, is one of the most anticipated summer gastronomic events in the region. The festival pays tribute to pizzaโone of the undisputed symbols of Campanian and Italian cuisine worldwideโbringing the aroma of wood-fired ovens and the convivial atmosphere of traditional village fairs to the town square.
For several consecutive evenings, typically in June, the center of Carinaro turns into a large open-air food village, where tastings, music, and entertainment blend together in a festive atmosphere that brings together families, young people, and visitors from neighboring towns.
The heart of the event is, naturally, the pizza, prepared by local master pizzaiolos and guest chefs from all over Campania. The stalls offer a selection designed to satisfy every palate:
Alongside the pizza, there is no shortage of craft beers, traditional desserts, and local products that showcase the rich food and wine heritage of the Terra di Lavoro.
The Pizza Festival is about more than just taste: every evening the program features live music with local bands and special guests, comedy shows, cabaret, and artistic performances that keep the energy high until late. There are dedicated play areas and workshops for children, while covered relaxation areas allow guests to enjoy the festival in comfort and good company.
More than just a food fair, the Pizza Festival is a moment of connection for the Carinaro community and the entire Aversa area. By celebrating a dish that is a cultural heritage of Campania, the event combines popular tradition, conviviality, and the promotion of local products, cementing its place as a delicious stop on the Caserta summer calendar.
The Carinaro Pizza Festival is expected to return in 2026, continuing the town's summer gastronomic tradition in the Caserta province. At the moment, there are no official dates or a published program for the new edition.
As in previous years, it is likely that the festival will take place in June, featuring stalls serving pizza in all its variations, tastings of DOP buffalo mozzarella and San Marzano tomatoes, live music, and evening shows. This page will be updated as soon as the organizers announce the final dates and program.
Carinaro is located in the Caserta province, in the Aversa area. By car, it can be reached via the SS7 bis and the A1 motorway (Naples-Rome). The most convenient train station is Aversa, which is connected to Naples and Caserta; bus connections from Caserta and Naples are also available.
Admission to the festival area is free. Pizzas, tastings, and drinks can be purchased directly at the food stalls set up within the event area.
As this is a very popular evening event, it is advisable to arrive a little early to find parking and enjoy the various gastronomic offerings and scheduled shows at a leisurely pace.
