The Maiella village welcomes summer with music, shows, and local flavors
Caramanico in Festa (Welcoming Summer) is the event with which the Municipality of Caramanico Terme, in the Province of Pescara, welcomes the summer season. For four days, the historic center of one of the Most Beautiful Villages in Italy, nestled in the Maiella National Park, turns into a hub of energy, entertainment, and culture, with a program designed for young audiences, families, and those who love outdoor fun.
The festival unfolds across the most picturesque spots in town: Corso Gaetano Bernardi, Viale Fontegrande, Piazza Fonte Grande, the Ex Convento delle Clarisse, and the Chiesa della Trinità . Every corner of the village becomes a stop, featuring artisan markets, street food areas, street performers, and spaces dedicated to children. Admission to all shows, concerts, DJ sets, and scheduled activities is completely free.
Evenings kick off with DJ sets along the Corso, followed by live concerts and tribute bands that keep the squares lively until late. The program also includes acrobatic juggling, performances by a roaming 1ManBand, and theater productions hosted in the setting of the Ex Convento delle Clarisse. For children and families, fairy-tale storytelling fills the afternoons within the village walls.
The event concludes on June 2nd, coinciding with Republic Day: the day blends festive fun with civic celebration, featuring a parade by the Caramanico Terme Band and the participation of local students. It is a finale that weaves together popular festivities, musical tradition, and a sense of community.
Known for its thermal waters and its privileged position within the Maiella National Park, the village of Caramanico Terme is an ideal starting point for hikes in the Orfento Valley and towards the Hermitage of San Giovanni all'Orfento. "Caramanico in Festa" is the perfect opportunity to discover this corner of Abruzzo, combining a festive atmosphere with the beauty of the territory.
Four days of free festivities brought the village of Caramanico Terme to life from May 30th to June 2nd, 2026. Evenings were opened by Maui DJ's set along Corso Gaetano Bernardi, followed by live concerts from Lubrain on Viale Fontegrande and a Lucio Dalla tribute concert by DallAmericaLucio in Piazza Fonte Grande. The program alternated between artisan markets, a street food area, 1ManBand acrobatic juggling shows, theater at the Ex Convento delle Clarisse, and "The Little Fairy Tale Forest" storytelling at the Chiesa della Trinità . The closing on June 2nd coincided with the Republic Day celebration and the parade of the Caramanico Terme Band.
Caramanico Terme can be reached by car from the A25 motorway (Alanno-Scafa or Torre de' Passeri exit), continuing along the SS487 towards the Maiella. The nearest train station is Scafa-San Valentino, which is connected by bus lines.
Admission is completely free for all shows, concerts, DJ sets, and activities. Events take place in the historic center from late morning until evening.
The village is compact and easily explored on foot. Combine your visit to the festival with a trip to the thermal baths, the Orfento Valley, and the trails of the Maiella National Park.
