Live music in the squares of Andria, from Christmas to Epiphany
Every year, between late December and Epiphany, Andria joins the major regional festival circuit known as Capodanni di Puglia, an initiative promoted by the Puglia Region through its tourism agency, Pugliapromozione, in collaboration with the eight provincial capitals. In this city within the Barletta-Andria-Trani (BAT) province, the celebrations are part of the municipal Le Radici del Natale program, transforming the central squares into a sprawling stage for live music.
The heart of the festivities is Piazza Marconi, which hosts the evening concerts. However, events span the entire city center: Piazza Catuma with its New Year's Eve big top, the Chiostro di San Francesco, the Church of the Immaculate, the Church of San Nicola, and bustling streets like Via Regina Margherita. The festival also reaches the suburbs, with events organized in partnership with local parishes and neighborhoods.
Andria's calendar is among the richest in Puglia, featuring live music, dance, singing, juggling, and entertainment for all ages. The lineup ranges from Christmas jazz and gospel to pop music and street bands, leading up to the Grand New Year's Concert on January 1st and the Epiphany concert with the Festa della Befana on January 6th. All outdoor performances are free to attend.
For Andria, the Capodanni di Puglia are an opportunity for tourism promotion and community building, featuring artistic lighting, a spirit of solidarity, and the celebration of the city's iconic sites, from the historic center of Frederick II to the churches in the urban heart. The event confirms the city's role as one of the capitals of Christmas in Puglia, drawing residents and visitors during the most evocative time of the year.
The shows are designed to be enjoyed while strolling through the squares: you can start the evening with a concert in Piazza Marconi and continue through the illuminated streets of the center, surrounded by crafts, flavors, and the traditional atmosphere of a Puglian Christmas. It is a simple and free way to discover Andria in its most festive guise.
For the 2026 New Year celebrations, Andria was once again one of the eight provincial capitals hosting the Capodanni di Puglia, the festival promoted by the Puglia Region and Pugliapromozione as part of the municipal "Le Radici del Natale" program. From December 26, 2025, to January 6, 2026, the central squares hosted live music every evening, with Piazza Marconi serving as the main stage and Piazza Catuma hosting the New Year's Eve festivities. The program featured a mix of jazz, gospel, pop music, and street performances, culminating in the Grand New Year's Concert on January 1st and the Festa della Befana on January 6th. All events were free of charge.
