When the cold grips the plain, in Campodoro (province of Padua) one of the most beloved winter festivals in the area returns: the Cabbage and Boiled Meat Festival. Organized by the volunteers of the Associazione Agli Amici, the event celebrates two simple but iconic ingredients of Venetian cuisine – cabbage and mixed boiled meat – transforming them into a gastronomic event capable of attracting gourmets from all over the Camposampiero area and the Paduan surroundings.
What to eat
The heart of the festival is the food stand, set up in a covered and heated venue, perfect for cold February evenings. Traditional peasant dishes are served:
- Mixed boiled meat served with horseradish, green sauce, and mustard
- Cabbage in its various forms, from cabbage parmigiana to cabbage rolls
- Freshly prepared fried food
- First courses, side dishes, and homemade desserts
When and where
The festival takes place over two weekends, with the stand open in the evenings and, on Sundays, also for lunch. The venue is located at Via Palazzina 1, in Campodoro. Given the turnout, booking is highly recommended.
This is one of those festivals that tell the story of the rural soul of Veneto: no pretenses of spectacle, but real food, a warm atmosphere, and the desire to be together that resists the February frost.
Cabbage and Boiled Meat Festival — edition 2026
The Cabbage and Boiled Meat Festival 2026 will take place in Campodoro on February 5, 6, 7, 8, 12, 13, 14, and 15, in the covered and heated venue at Via Palazzina 1. The food stand, managed by the volunteers of the Associazione Agli Amici, will offer mixed boiled meat with horseradish, green sauce, and mustard, cabbage in various versions, and freshly prepared fried food.
Among the events of this edition, the special Valentine's Day evening, Saturday, February 14, designed for couples, stands out. Reservations are recommended.
