The historic agricultural and commercial fair since 1747
The Ancient Fair of Arsego has its roots in 1747, when Doge Pietro Grimani granted its establishment to the Venetian Soranzo family, who started it at their villa in Arsego, under the jurisdiction of Camposampiero. Since then, the fair has been held every third Sunday of October in the hamlet of Arsego, in San Giorgio delle Pertiche, in the province of Padova, and is one of the most important historical events in the central Veneto region.
The fair retains its exclusively agricultural vocation: from the exhibition to the sale of livestock, agricultural products and local and national specialties. Alongside rural tradition, the streets of the center fill with about 300 stalls selling various goods, while the calendar includes exhibitions, a large funfair and dozens of traveling shows.
The event spans five days, with the main celebration on Sunday and continuing into the following Monday. Between commerce, agriculture, gastronomy and entertainment, the Ancient Fair of Arsego remains an identity-defining event for the entire Camposampierese territory.
For its 279th edition, the Ancient Fair of Arsego will be held in October 2026, around the third Sunday of the month, in the hamlet of Arsego. As per centuries-old tradition, the fair combines its agricultural and commercial character with stalls, a funfair, and traveling shows.
Detailed program and precise dates will be published by the Committee on the official website. The usual structure of the fair includes:
The heart of the fair is the third Sunday of October, with continuation on adjacent days.
