Four open-air evenings featuring gourmet burgers, food trucks, and over thirty Italian craft beers
The Burger & Beer Festival is the first major outdoor event of the summer season at Eataly Rome Ostiense, in the city of Rome, Lazio. For four consecutive evenings, the Piazzale XII Ottobre 1492, in front of the former Air Terminal Ostiense, transforms into a large village of taste: food trucks lined up under the stars, beer counters, shared tables, and live music from evening until late at night. It is a simple and very Roman formula that combines quality street food, affordable prices, and a neighborhood vibe.
The heart of the event is the selection of food trucks and mobile kitchens, each with its own specialty. Alongside smashed burgers—the American technique of pressing a meatball onto a hot griddle to create a crispy crust—there are more Italian-inspired options featuring select meats and local cheeses.
The quality of the ingredients is the common thread: it is the signature that Eataly brings even to an informal context like street food.
The second soul of the festival is beer. At the counters, you will find over thirty Italian labels, both craft and commercial, with a wide stylistic range from refreshing lagers to hoppy IPAs, as well as blanches, saisons, and Belgian-inspired beers. Each evening is an opportunity for a small tasting guided by your own palate, with the help of the brewers present. The offering is completed by ready-to-drink cocktails, wines by the glass from the Eataly bar, and a selection of non-alcoholic beverages.
Every night, a DJ set accompanies dinner, with different artists ranging from disco-tropical to deep house: the music starts when the square fills up and continues until late, without ever drowning out conversations at the tables. There are also show cooking sessions dedicated to American barbecue techniques, pool tables, and, for families, a kids' area with the Ciclotto, an ecological pedal-powered carousel that moves thanks to the children's own energy.
The Ostiense district is one of the capital's most vibrant laboratories: industrial archaeology, large-scale street art, nightclubs, and the Piramide metro station just a few steps away. The festival fits naturally into this fabric, attracting local Romans, students from Roma Tre University, and tourists heading toward the Pyramid of Cestius and Testaccio. It is a simple and convivial way to enjoy an early summer evening in Rome, with no reservations or formalities required.
Admission is free and no reservation is needed. To eat and drink, you purchase tokens at the dedicated cash desks, which can then be spent at all the stands: it is a system that speeds up queues and allows you to taste a bit of everything while wandering freely among the food trucks. Promotional booklets are available for those planning a long evening, along with a branded glass for tastings at the beer counters.
From June 11 to 14, 2026, the square of Eataly Rome Ostiense hosted four evenings dedicated to burgers and Italian craft beer, from 6:30 PM to 12:30 AM. The format combined street food trucks, beer counters, and a daily musical program.
Among the stands present were Gingiro with fried snacks and spiced chicken, Sweet 'n Smoke BBQ with pulled pork and artisanal sausages, the BBQ Chianina Station with grilled Chianina beef burgers, Pompa Malatesta with fish sandwiches and vegan alternatives, and Miami Joe with hot dogs and smashed burgers, including the Double Oklahoma. The beer menu featured over thirty labels, from lagers to IPAs, as well as blanches and saisons, accompanied by ready-to-drink cocktails, wines by the glass from the Eataly bar, and non-alcoholic drinks.
Every evening featured a DJ set from 9:30 PM to 11:30 PM, with different artists ranging from disco-tropical to deep house sounds. On the opening night, a show cooking session dedicated to American barbecue techniques was held. For families, there was a kids' area with the Ciclotto, the ecological pedal-powered carousel, and pool tables open to the public.
