What is Burattinarte

Burattinarte is the international puppet theatre festival of the Alba area. Established in 1994, it is now one of the most recognizable events of its kind in Piedmont. Its strength lies in combining the popular, accessible nature of the town square with artistic research, playfulness with poetry, and lightness with depth. The summer edition, Summertime, takes place between late June and early September 2026, visiting various towns in the Langhe and Roero regions, including Alba, Lequio Berria, Piobesi d'Alba, La Morra, Bra, Guarene, Murazzano, Cherasco, Grinzane Cavour, Castagnito, and Novello.

Puppets, marionettes, shadows, and animated objects come to life before the public in open-air spaces, historic centres, and village squares.
