Contemporary art spread across the Alta Langa, with a stop in Paroldo at the San Sebastiano Chapel
Buona Fortuna Ribelli (BFR) is a widespread contemporary art festival organized and curated by Galleria Lunetta11, which has been promoting artistic projects in the region since 2019 by opening churches, chapels, gardens, and villages to installations and exhibitions. The event transforms the landscape of the Cuneo Alta Langa, in the heart of Piedmont, into a widespread laboratory for research and enjoyment, creating a dialogue between the works, nature, historical architecture, and the identity of these small towns.
The 2026 edition, titled "Back to mine", evokes the act of returning to an intimate and personal space, populated by images, gestures, and attentions that define one's way of being in the world. From June 27 to September 20, 2026, the exhibition will be spread across five municipalities: Dogliani, Serralunga d'Alba, Mombarcaro, Paroldo, and San Benedetto Belbo. Participating artists include historical and contemporary names such as Carla Accardi, Alighiero Boetti, Alberto Burri, Aldo Mondino, Salvo, Mario Schifano, Sergio Ragalzi, Stefano Caimi, Sara Scanderebech, and Matisse Mesnil.
In the municipality of Paroldo, in the Province of Cuneo, the exhibition takes place in the San Sebastiano Chapel, the village's oldest church, which houses late-medieval frescoes. Here, the work "L'Abri" by Franco-Italian artist Matisse Mesnil is on display, curated by Progetto Ludovico in collaboration with Romero Paprocki. The installation engages in a dialogue with the sacred space and its figurative memory, offering the visitor an intimate and evocative experience. The Paroldo stop is open from June 27 to July 26, 2026.
Buona Fortuna Ribelli 2026 is produced by Lunetta11 with the support of SIPAL S.p.a. as main partner and in collaboration with the Alta Langa municipalities. The festival, free and open to all, weaves together art, landscape, and community, inviting residents and visitors to rediscover the Langhe villages through the lens of contemporary art.
In Paroldo, the San Sebastiano Chapel is open on Saturdays and Sundays from 12:00 PM to 6:00 PM; from Tuesday to Friday, visits are possible by appointment ([email protected]). Admission is free.
