The grand return of the 4 Borghi Palio after more than thirty years
There is an event that, in 2026, takes Bruzolo back in time while simultaneously projecting it toward the future: the 4 Borghi Palio. Established in 1987 and suspended in 1993, the Palio remained a vivid memory for over thirty years in the minds of the inhabitants of this Susa Valley town in the province of Turin. On June 13th and 14th, 2026, that memory becomes reality once again, thanks to the efforts of the Bruzolo Pro Loco, led by president Stefania Rege, which has registered over two hundred participants and seen the colorful district t-shirts sell out.
The heart of the event is the challenge between the four historic districts into which the town is divided, each with its own identifying color:
For two days, the streets of Bruzolo will be painted in these colors in an atmosphere of healthy territorial rivalry. The Palio is not just a competition: it is, above all, a rediscovery of local history and an opportunity to gather, introduce younger generations to the town's roots, and strengthen the sense of community.
The format combines the sporting and lighthearted nature of team games between the districts with a range of activities designed for all ages. A themed medieval village is planned, while food stalls will allow visitors to savor the conviviality typical of Piedmontese village festivals. A themed photo booth will also be available to capture the moment of this grand return.
The Palio is part of a calendar of initiatives that enliven Bruzolo at the beginning of summer, coinciding with the celebrations of Saint John, the town's patron saint. Dominated by the evocative Bruzolo Castle, the town is a valuable stop along the valley that climbs from Turin toward France. Participating in the 4 Borghi Palio means experiencing an authentic event, far from the major tourist circuits and deeply rooted in the identity of the province of Turin and Piedmont.
After its suspension in 1993, the 2026 edition brings the 4 Borghi Palio of Bruzolo back to life. The Pro Loco, chaired by Stefania Rege, has recorded record numbers with over 200 participants and the district t-shirts sold out. Two days of celebration to rediscover local history and rekindle the local rivalry between the four districts of the town.
Saturday, June 13th and Sunday, June 14th, 2026.
