"Brisighella sotto le stelle" is one of the longest-running and most beloved summer festivals in Corato, a city in the Metropolitan City of Bari, Puglia. Established in the early 2000s, the event has over twenty-five years of history and remains the highlight that, every July, officially opens the Corato Summer, a rich calendar of events accompanying the city throughout the beautiful season.
The festival is organised by the Pro Loco Quadratum in collaboration with the municipal administration, transforming some of the most evocative spaces in the historic centre into open-air stages: the intimate Corato Town Hall Cloister and the scenic Piazza Marconi.
The programme of "Brisighella sotto le stelle" weaves together different artistic languages, aiming to engage a broad and diverse audience. Over the years, the festival has featured:
This variety makes the festival a small multidisciplinary event, capable of combining entertainment, culture, and the promotion of local traditions. Almost all events are free to attend (with mandatory booking in some cases), confirming the popular and inclusive nature of the festival.
"Brisighella sotto le stelle" is not just a series of shows, but a moment of identity for the Corato community. The organisation by the Pro Loco Quadratum ties the festival to local promotion activities, with some evenings coinciding with national events such as the National Day of the Pro Loco of Italy. Strolling between the cloister and the squares of the centre on July evenings, with music accompanying the cool night air, has become a summer ritual for Corato residents and visitors passing through the Bari province.
At the moment, the dates and programme for the 2026 edition of "Brisighella sotto le stelle" have not yet been officially announced. Based on previous editions, the festival is expected to return in July to Corato, with evenings of music, theatre, children's shows, and events dedicated to the local Corato dialect, curated by the Pro Loco Quadratum in collaboration with the local council. This page will be updated as soon as the organisers release the calendar and the full programme.
Events are held in the historic centre of Corato (BA), mainly at the Town Hall Cloister and Piazza Marconi. Evenings take place outdoors, generally starting between 8:00 PM and 8:30 PM.
Most events are free to attend. For some shows with limited seating (such as the concerts in the cloister), mandatory booking may be required, available online or at the Pro Loco Quadratum Info Point in Piazza Sedile.
Corato can be reached by car via the SS16 bis and the A14 motorway (Trani-Corato exit). The city is served by the Bari Nord railway line. Corato is located approximately 45 km from Bari.
