Three evenings of flavors, music, and rural traditions in Ferentino
Every summer, in the heart of the Ciociaria region, the Bread Festival in Ferentino transforms Via Sterpara into a vibrant meeting place for food, music, and tradition. For three consecutive nights, bread becomes the symbol of a rural culture that remains deeply embedded in the territory, celebrated with food stalls, local specialties, and entertainment for all ages. The event is organized by the Castello delle Vigne Cultural Association under the patronage of the Municipality of Ferentino.
The heart of the festival lies in the food stalls, which open every evening at 8:00 PM, serving sandwiches, arrosticini, fries, and hot fried dough treats (bombe). On the opening night, the Association treats all guests to a complimentary pasta dish, while the weekend menu expands to include mutton in tomato sauce, a classic dish of the local farming heritage. Bread, the absolute star of the event, tells the story of an ancient bond between the community and the land.
The evenings feature a mix of live music, dance parties, DJ sets, and performances. Guests can dance to the sound of orchestras and entertainers, watch fashion shows, and enjoy live music performances, while children can enjoy bouncy castles and pony rides. It is a village festival in the most authentic sense, where conviviality and joy fill the air until late at night.
Ferentino is one of the most charming villages in the Province of Frosinone, in the Lazio region, featuring a historic center of Hernican and Roman origin enclosed by imposing polygonal walls. Attending the Bread Festival means combining the pleasure of fine dining with the discovery of a territory rich in memory and identity: a delightful journey through authentic flavors and popular culture, just a few kilometers from Rome.
Open to families, young people, and visitors alike, the Bread Festival has become a staple of the Ferentino summer calendar. It is a perfect opportunity to rediscover the flavors of Ciociaria tradition and experience the warm, welcoming atmosphere of a classic Lazio village festival.
