Three days of music, culture, and nature at the Bosco della Città in Rovereto
The Bøsk Festival is one of the most original summer events in the cultural landscape of Rovereto, located in the heart of the Vallagarina valley in the province of Trento (Trentino-Alto Adige). Every year in July, the Bosco della Città transforms into an open, shared space where music, thought, and nature meet for three consecutive days. With the hill closed to traffic, the festival becomes a pedestrian-friendly haven among trees and clearings, offering an intimate and informal atmosphere that sets it apart from large city events.
The festival has its roots in the InBosco experience, a series of events that, from 2013 to 2018, saw Rovereto's youth associations occupying the city's green spaces. Building on that legacy, the 204 Cultural Association launched the Bøsk Festival, engaging local stakeholders and turning the initiative into a structured project. Collaboration with the Municipality of Rovereto and the Tourism and Major Events Office has solidified the event as a staple of the Rovereto summer.
Bøsk is defined by its eclectic spirit. The musical program ranges from electronic and house to disco and reimagined jazz, with DJ sets and live performances animating the woods until late at night. But music is only part of the story: the festival also hosts cultural debates on topics such as the environment, the food industry, and zero-mile consumption, alongside dance workshops, art exhibitions, and wellness and sports activities for all ages.
Bøsk Festival has a naturally ecological vocation: it takes place outdoors, highlights the hilly landscape of Rovereto, and promotes sustainable mobility. The venue is reachable on foot with a 25-minute walk from Piazza Rosmini, by bicycle, or by taxi. A free shuttle bus service connects Piazzale Achille Leoni to the woods during the festival evenings. Admission is free, in line with the event's inclusive and participatory spirit.
The 2026 edition of the Bøsk Festival was held from Thursday, July 9 to Saturday, July 11 at the Bosco della Città in Rovereto. On Thursday, the festival opened from 6:00 PM to 1:00 AM, on Friday from 2:00 PM to 2:00 AM, and on Saturday from 4:00 PM to 2:00 AM, with the hill closed to traffic and accessible on foot, by bike, or via the free shuttle bus from Piazzale Achille Leoni.
