Plenty of art in the mountains: theatre, music, and culture in Imèr
The Blusa Festival is an event dedicated to theatre, music, and cultural activities held every summer in Imèr, a small municipality in the Primiero Valley, in the province of Trento, in the heart of the Trentino-Alto Adige region. The beating heart of the festival is the Piccolo Teatro Blu on Via Nazionale, around which a lively program comes to life, combining national-level performances, concerts, workshops, and open-air festivities.
The philosophy of the Blusa Festival is summed up by the motto "plenty of art in the mountains": bringing culture, theatrical research, and live music into an alpine setting while enhancing the identity of the village of Imèr. The festival is organized by the Officina delle Pezze association, with the support of the San Martino di Castrozza, Passo Rolle, Primiero and Vanoi Tourist Board, and was born from the experience of the BluOff event, its more nocturnal and experimental soul.
Every theatrical performance takes place inside the Piccolo Teatro Blu; afterwards, the audience moves outside, along the main street of the village which is closed to traffic, where live concerts, DJ sets, street food, and social gatherings follow one another. The result is an intimate and participatory atmosphere, where theatre engages with the square and the community.
The Blusa Festival caters to a broad and diverse audience: families with children, contemporary theatre enthusiasts, live music lovers, and tourists vacationing in the Dolomites. The combination of activities for children, evening shows, and late-night concerts makes it one of the most anticipated cultural events of the summer in the Primiero area, capable of transforming the streets of Imèr into a widespread stage for a few days.
The 2026 edition of the Blusa Festival in Imèr will take place from Friday, July 31st to Sunday, August 2nd, with a preview on July 17th dedicated to the finale of the Vandùgola theatrical residency: three companies will present three original theatrical studies at the Piccolo Teatro Blu — Misurina, Tikotà, and Brama — and the audience will decide the winning show, which will debut during Bluoff'26.
During the main weekend, the program will alternate between theatre, creative workshops for children (such as "Storie di Carta" on Saturday, August 1st), presentations, and live concerts. Among the musical highlights is the concert by the duo/group B&B No Wood (Friday, July 31st, on Via Nazionale), with their original singer-songwriter style "of outcasts, rebels, and poets".
Preview — Friday, July 17th: Vandùgola, residency finale with three original theatrical studies (Misurina, Tikotà, Brama) at the Piccolo Teatro Blu, 9:00 PM.
Friday, July 31st: festival opening, shows at the Piccolo Teatro Blu, and concert by B&B No Wood on Via Nazionale (around 10:30 PM).
Saturday, August 1st: creative workshop for children "Storie di Carta" (5:00 PM, Village Center), theatrical performances, and live music.
Sunday, August 2nd: workshops, performances, and closing concerts along the village street.
Imèr can be reached by car via the SS50 Passo Rolle road. From Trento, it is about an hour and a half drive; the nearest train stations are Feltre and Ora/Auer, which are then connected by bus lines to the Primiero Valley.
Theatrical performances at the Piccolo Teatro Blu cost €6 (reduced €4 for children and teenagers) and can be purchased on-site. Concerts, DJ sets, and events along the village street are free to attend. For performances with limited seating, booking is recommended.
