Birriamo, the summer of craft beer in Castellafiume

Birriamo - Beer, Food & Music is the summer event that has been bringing craft beer enthusiasts together for years in the heart of the Marsica region, in Castellafiume, a mountain village in the Province of L'Aquila, Abruzzo. Organized by the Pro Loco Castellafiume A.P.S., the festival combines a passion for local beers with delicious L'Aquila cuisine and a festive atmosphere that involves the entire town.

Craft beers and flavors of the Marsica

The main theme of the event is the craft beers of the Marsica, served from taps set up along the streets of the town center. Alongside the beer mugs, you will find traditional L'Aquila dishes, from the famous arrosticini to specialties of the Abruzzo mountain tradition, creating a pairing that tells the story of the gastronomic identity of this inland corner of Abruzzo.

Music, games, and conviviality

As the name "Beer, Food & Music" suggests, the evening is not just about tastings: live music keeps the party going late into the night, while the unmissable human foosball tournament turns the square into a giant playing field, where teams of friends compete amidst laughter and cheering. This is the authentic soul of Birriamo, capable of engaging both adults and children in a genuine, village-style atmosphere.

Castellafiume, nestled on the slopes of the mountains surrounding the Valle Roveto and the Marsica, provides the ideal setting for Birriamo: narrow streets, cozy squares, and the warm hospitality of its community. The event, entirely managed by Pro Loco volunteers, is now a landmark in the summer calendar of food and wine events in the area, attracting visitors from neighboring towns and showcasing the village beyond the borders of the Marsica.
