About Est'Arte Maglianese

Est'Arte Maglianese is the major summer festival that brings Magliano de' Marsi, in the province of L'Aquila, to life between July and September. Sponsored by the Municipality, it brings together over fifty events in a single program, including concerts, theater, dance, open-air cinema, exhibitions, book presentations, sports, food and wine, and children's entertainment. The squares, gardens, and historic churches of the Marsican village become the stage for a widespread summer that combines quality culture with a sense of community, featuring free events designed for all ages.

A summer of culture in the heart of the Marsica region

Est'Arte Maglianese is the summer festival promoted by the Municipality of Magliano de' Marsi, a village in the Marsican hinterland in the province of L'Aquila, Abruzzo. Established in 2022, the event has grown over the years into a widespread program that, between July and September, spreads over fifty appointments across the squares, gardens, and historic churches of the town and its hamlets.

A multidisciplinary program

The hallmark of Est'Arte is its variety. Throughout the summer, the calendar weaves together different genres and languages, offering something for every audience:

  • Music: concerts in the square, classical and chamber music festivals, dance evenings;
  • Live performance: theater, dance, and shows for families;
  • Open-air cinema: screenings under the stars on summer evenings;
  • Culture and literature: book presentations and meetings with authors;
  • Art: exhibitions and displays;
  • Sports, games, and entertainment for children and teenagers;
  • Food and wine: tastings and initiatives linked to local traditions.

The venues of the festival

The events take place in the most evocative locations within the municipal territory. The Garden of the former Masciarelli Kindergarten hosts literary evenings and meetings with authors, while historic churches such as Santa Maria di Loreto welcome classical and guitar music concerts. In the hamlet of Rosciolo dei Marsi, the splendid Church of Santa Maria in Valle Porclaneta, a jewel of Abruzzese Romanesque architecture, provides the backdrop for some of the most refined musical appointments of the season, in collaboration with local festivals.

Culture and community

Beyond artistic quality, Est'Arte Maglianese was born with the goal declared by the municipal administration to strengthen the sense of community and promote the active participation of citizens. Admission to the events is generally free, making the cultural offering accessible to residents and visitors alike. For those spending the summer in the Marsica region, the festival is also an opportunity to discover an authentic village, nestled in the mountain landscape between the Fucino basin and the Magnola Mountains.

Est'Arte Maglianese โ€” edition 2026

The Municipality of Magliano de' Marsi is once again hosting the Est'Arte Maglianese festival in the summer of 2026, a now well-established appointment in the cultural calendar of the Marsican village. Following the format of previous editions, spread between July and September, the event will return with a widespread program of events including music, entertainment, open-air cinema, art, culture, and food and wine. The dates and detailed program for the 2026 edition have not yet been officially announced; they will be communicated by the municipal administration in the weeks leading up to the summer.

The 2026 edition of Est'Arte Maglianese is expected, as usual, in the heart of the summer in Magliano de' Marsi, in the province of L'Aquila. The dates and program have not yet been released by the Municipality.
