Est'Arte Maglianese is the summer festival promoted by the Municipality of Magliano de' Marsi, a village in the Marsican hinterland in the province of L'Aquila, Abruzzo. Established in 2022, the event has grown over the years into a widespread program that, between July and September, spreads over fifty appointments across the squares, gardens, and historic churches of the town and its hamlets.
The hallmark of Est'Arte is its variety. Throughout the summer, the calendar weaves together different genres and languages, offering something for every audience:
The events take place in the most evocative locations within the municipal territory. The Garden of the former Masciarelli Kindergarten hosts literary evenings and meetings with authors, while historic churches such as Santa Maria di Loreto welcome classical and guitar music concerts. In the hamlet of Rosciolo dei Marsi, the splendid Church of Santa Maria in Valle Porclaneta, a jewel of Abruzzese Romanesque architecture, provides the backdrop for some of the most refined musical appointments of the season, in collaboration with local festivals.
Beyond artistic quality, Est'Arte Maglianese was born with the goal declared by the municipal administration to strengthen the sense of community and promote the active participation of citizens. Admission to the events is generally free, making the cultural offering accessible to residents and visitors alike. For those spending the summer in the Marsica region, the festival is also an opportunity to discover an authentic village, nestled in the mountain landscape between the Fucino basin and the Magnola Mountains.
The 2026 edition of Est'Arte Maglianese is expected, as usual, in the heart of the summer in Magliano de' Marsi, in the province of L'Aquila. The dates and program have not yet been released by the Municipality. Based on recent editions, the festival should take place between July and September with over fifty appointments including concerts, theater, dance, cinema under the stars, exhibitions, and book presentations. This page will be updated as soon as the official program is published.
