Three days dedicated to Alpine Nebbiolo in the historic center of Sondrio
ViVa, Vini Valtellina is the widespread event celebrating the enological excellence of Valtellina: wines made from Nebbiolo, a grape variety that in this valley is called Chiavennasca and gives life to prestigious labels such as Sassella, Grumello, Inferno, Valgella, and Sforzato. For three days, the historic center of Sondrio, the provincial capital, becomes the stage for a grand narrative of the territory through its wines.
The heart of the event are the tasting stands set up in the streets and squares of the center, where visitors can sample the productions of Valtellina wineries and talk directly with the producers. Dedicated spaces welcome wine industry professionals, in a format that unites the public of enthusiasts with the professional sector.
ViVa is not just about tasting: the event takes participants to experience the landscape that gives rise to these wines. Scheduled are walks through the terraced vineyards, supported by historic dry-stone walls, e-bike tours, and winery visits, to discover up close the heroic viticulture that characterizes the Rhaetian slopes of Valtellina.
To close the days are the ViVa Nebbiolo evenings, which combine live music, flavors of Valtellina cuisine, and a convivial atmosphere in the heart of Sondrio. The event is promoted by the Valtellina Wines Protection Consortium, with the Valtellina Wines Sustainability Consortium and Provinea, and represents an ideal showcase for discovering one of the most fascinating wine-growing areas of the Alps.
