A night of beer on the Gliaca di Piraino seafront
This edition has not been confirmed by the organiser to date. We recommend checking before going.
The Beer Festival in Piraino takes place in Gliaca, the town's coastal hamlet overlooking the Tyrrhenian Sea, in the heart of the Nebrodi Riviera in the province of Messina. It is one of those summer events that bring small Sicilian coastal towns to life: nothing glitzy, just a genuine evening designed for socializing outdoors, facing the sea, with a beer in hand.
The event is organized by Il Pizzettaro, a business run by master pizzaiolo Alberto Carianni, which has been drawing large crowds to the seafront for several years. The formula is simple and proven: draft beer, plenty of good food to pair with your drinks, and live music that keeps the night going until late. Past editions have featured local bands and groups that turned the festival into a true open-air musical event.
Although it was born around the world of beer, the festival has a family-friendly soul: previous editions have included an area with inflatables for children, a testament to the event's popular and inclusive nature. Admission has always been free, in keeping with the spirit of Piraino's summer festivities.
The Beer Festival is part of the rich summer calendar of Piraino, filled with food festivals, religious processions, gastronomic events, and musical evenings that enliven both the hilltop village and the Gliaca marina. For those spending their holidays on the Messina coast, between Capo d'Orlando and the Tindari promontory, it is the perfect opportunity to experience an authentic evening in touch with the local community.
The festival is a recurring summer event in Piraino. At the moment, the dates for the 2026 edition have not yet been announced by the organizers: the event is traditionally held during the summer months, between July and August, on the Gliaca seafront. It is advisable to follow the Il Pizzettaro channels and the Piraino municipal event pages to find out the date and program as soon as they are announced.
